Hi All,

I have a question related to "shaving" or the upkeep of mens skin.... Why do men feel so uncomfortable, going into a normal beauty salon to get waxed or facials??

I use to work at a beauty salon and saw alot of men struggle to make their appointments and bolt out the door so that they wouldn`t be seen!!?

For the men.... what would make you feel more comfortable, going into these salon (that are primarily for women) and do you know of any services that you canthink that are missing in womens salons for men???

Because beauty salons are for girls, and it would make us a girlie-mon! :-D It`s a name thing. Possibly, in some cases, going into a "health spa" might work better, or a "health club." But if it offered waxing, I`m thinking.....maybe not.

Waxing and men just reminds me of that scene from the 40 year old
virgin!!! My hubby was cringing and flinching and laughing throughout
the entire waxing!!!
But I agree that men really need to learn to look after their skin. I started
all my "boys" (hubby included) in a really good skin care regime..It`s not a
girlie thing!
Cheers

I love that movie - it was hillarious!!

I just think that there is now (more than ever), men looking after their skin and appearance.

I`m thinking of opening a mens only salon and wonder if men will take to this idea more than going into the traditonal women`s salon.

I use the Gillette Tracer razor and Aveano Shave cream. The Tracer is a high quality twin blade safety razor. (It’s the silver one) The blades are angled in a way that give me the closest shave of any razor, even closer than the Mach 20blader,  :)  Most of my friends use razors too.

I think that is a great idea. My wife gave me a gift certificate to a new gentlemen’s hair salon that just opened nearby. They have indoor putting greens and wide screen ESPN in the waiting area. They offer cigars, drinks, massage, and other grooming things that I haven’t tried. Here is the URL www.gcgrooming.com
