I just went to Cartess` website and saw his video for the "Free Magic School" (it`s a way down the page right here, so you have to scroll).

That was awesome! Not only is this a GREAT YouTube viral marketing piece, but he was so casual about the whole thing - what a crackup! He definitely made me want to watch the whole thing to see what happened!!

So hey, way to go Cartess!

That was awesome......very cool. I actually went to a friends party last saturday, her husband moonlights as a magician. I hated not knowing how he did things...so this video would definatley get my attention. Very funny, it is amazing what you can do with video editing and backdrops too. He does a great job!

Hi Nikole,

Thanks for the kind words.

You`re right about the viral piece because of some few minor modifications, my sign-up rates are almost doubling every 10 days. Right now we`re getting up to 700 signups per day to the site: http://www.freemagicschool.com

Now --- I`ll reveal some amazing tips for SuN members on how this could work for `any` business.

I get a little long-winded, so please bear with me

This entire site is setup on a autoresponder program (and for those of you all who don`t know what an autoresponder is....it`s a program that sends out a sequence of email messages at a predetermined time. In other words, if you write 10 pieces of email, you can specify that the first message goes out today, and the 2nd email goes out 3 days later, and the 3rd email goes out 1 day after the 2nd one goes out, and so on, and so on...

I used the autoresponder to put my videos in....so once you sign-up, you`re instantly sent the video teaching you how to do the paper trick. Two days later, you get an interview with Harry Blackstone sent to you, and 5 days after that, you get another video trick, etc...

This way, you do the work one time, and each person who signs up gets dropped into the sequence. Last I checked, I had over 17,000 members, in the program and they`re all on the list and are active (this is all over a 4 month period)

I`ve since created a forum (less than 45 days ago) and that has taken off on it`s own: http://www.freemagicschool.com/magicforum

Now -- here is wear the viral part gets interesting....

Ahhh...first, let me back-track...we dropped a few video clips on YouTube and youtube works like a search engine --- in order for you to see my magic video, you had to type in  a series of keywords related to magic (which if you did, you`re now a prospect of mine).

They then watch a video and in that video, I have plug myself in and tell them if they want to learn `this trick` then go to the website, here is one of a few youtube videos:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=hQhdK8l6CuY

http://youtube.com/watch?v=mOixX_ozZ48

[[[ Bear With Me --- Because I`m Going Somewhere With This]]]

Now...after they watch the video, they`re instructed to go to my site at the free magic school.

Now --- once they`re in...they`re told to join the forums and to join the magic contest where each month, the winner is given some type of prize related to magic, here is this months contest:

 http://www.freemagicschool.com/june-magic-contest.html

(there use to be a video on the page, but the manufacturer disabled the video file on their server because the traffic from our site was sucking up the bandwidth).

Anyhow...if you notices rules number 1 and 2 --- this explains why my traffic is starting to go through the roof:

1 ) You must be the person performing the trick in the video. To prove you`re the person in the video, you MUST show your face while stating something similar to the following: "My name is....and this video is for the Magic Contest at www.FreeMagicSchool.com" While you`re making that statement, your face and lips must be seen so we can validate you`re the one in the video!

2) UPload your video to youtube and link to it in the June Magic Contest section of the forum.

When these people upload their videos to the site, they plug my site in, which drives traffic back to my site --- in 6 months, there is no doubt I`ll be signing up 4,000-6,000 people per day.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=9sJd_zTRM0g (her video had over 3K views)

So now...they`re spreading the word.

Ironically, i had a hard time selling these folks products because in my initial videos I emphasized that the program was FREE -- and it is. I tried to upgrade members to a paying site where they could get more advanced stuff, but that didn`t work to well.

It was after I started doing the monthly contests that people started to really buy. What I noticed, when I showed what the prize was going to be, then everybody started buying the prize because many knew they weren`t going to win, but they wanted the video (the prize), so now each month, I promote a highly priced prize (last month it was a 8 volume DVD series on coin tricks) -- I purchase this stuff from a magic wholesaler.

Also, on some videos I teach, there is also a dvd underneath it for those who want to buy -- and that has proven to be quite successful --- notice the sales blurb under the video:

Video is the next big thing to hit the net --- and for those of us who seize the opportunity, we can make a lot of money...most folks won`t catch on to this until another 2 years probably, so that puts YOU at an advantage by implementing this technology.

I`m in the process of redesigning me and my brother`s entire site to include this style of video marketing....this is the old site:

and this will be the new site:

(the video is a rough draft --- so ignore, but i have already replaced the old video I had with this one and its converting much better).

Basically, the new site will be totally related to teeth and little 3 minute infomercial style clips to talk about the product in an effort to sell it.

I`m sure many of you have seen infomercials on tv and they typically last 30 minutes long -- with the web, i believe we can get the same advantage creating 3-5 minute `direct response` type videos.

The videos will still have to work like webpages whereas with a website you only have a few seconds to grab their attention, the same rules will apply with video too...the advantage with video is that you now have the interactive piece of the website, whereas on tv, they had to watch the commercial, go get the phone, and then call.

With the web piece, they`re already on the site and if the video does its job, then they can click around the site to get more information and then immediately order. This is interactivity on `steroids`.

Here is a rough-draft of my own site for my new company, WebMedia Avenue, Inc : http://www.webmediaavenue.com

It looks rough, but I`m just testing

Now, I did put something up (i do real estate investing on the side) and i`ve seen dramatic results from day one: http://www.pauldinghomestv.com

(i`m cheap and lazy, so what you`ll learn about me is that i`ll use the exact layouts and audio clips for every single site  )

There is so much potential for videos.

Some guy here is putting together a site for all the colleges in the atlanta area and he`ll be doing video tours of all the colleges. Parents who are thinking about sending their kids to college here can view the college campus, videos, and events straight from the site.

Video can be done to sell anything.

The videos I made were all done with a $300 video camera and some software and a microphone that cost me $49 bucks and a green screen that allows you to put any type of background behind (i made the mistake of paying $300 for my green screen, but now realize you can get it much cheaper on ebay).

Well...I know i get long winded...but if anybody has any questions, feel free to post them here and I`ll be more than glad to help best I can

You`re too kind Nikole!
