Just wanted to get some feedback on this area of a home based business utilizing a website and doing the work from our home office.
Although Coolerwagon is my main focus, my wife and I believe this may be a viable way to generate income for startup.
Was just wondering what kind of obstacles may lay ahead to pursue this type of home based business?

its great. low cost and high margins from sweat equity.  replicating is easy (automated) but editing is time consuming. you may want to think about the time you spent doing this vs your #1 priority the coolerwagon.  before you know it you might be working a self created job at home.

In order for people to do business with you they must
perceive an advantage - so "we do editing" is not enough -
that`s a commodity.

I sincerely suggest you read some of Dan Kennedy`s books.
He has a lot of information on his website too.  It seems
to me you are looking for a product to sell that has a lot
of demand for it.  For video work there is demand, but where
there is demand there is competition - so you must offer
something special, or be perceived to do so.

There is some demand for competent flash animators who
can integrate live-action videos to make punchy web commercials.
Flash is not-so-easy to learn so that creates a situation where
it`s an in-demand skill.

At the very least you might want to proof-read your Coolerwagon
site in case an investor stumbles over it.

Thanks for the comments guys, yes all true. Yes, editing is very time consuming & rewarding. I think, and I could be wrong, most consumers want their DV, or DVD raw video just cleaned up and organized and maybe add in the still photos, then place on a DVD, simple clean menu and package in a nice case. This doesn`t take long and would be inexpensive. It seems that service is hard to find at a good price.

Webjunky,
I hope your right, too much work is never a bad thing, especially in this day and age.

Loren,
Just curious on your comment:
"At the very least you might want to proof-read your Coolerwagon
site in case an investor stumbles over it."
Can you send me details? I know I`m still a newbie when it comes to websites..any help is appreciated.
As for flash, yes most difficult. I have CS3 training videos hoping to conquer eventually.

no it is not, but what i was getting at is that too much work may turn into a rut/job (may it be a high paying one but still a job).....this will take you away from your dream of creating a "business" (passive income, delegation, such attributes.....)
i suppose you can turn anything into a business really - but you`d rather pursue what you truly love doing right?
