It would be great to get feedback on the new community site I just launched. I am also looking to rent space out to anyone with a large related ecommerce site.

The fonts on the landing page are way too small. I couldn`t hardly read anything, including the tabs along the top. I had no idea what this site does, except that the name of the company is totally excellent! :-)

I realize from the name it`s a site about being a new mom. But, that`s all I realized. Nothing on the home page easily pulls me in. It isn`t "friendly," to try to get across what I felt upon first glance.

Then I clicked on Shopping, just to see what the heck this site is about. Okay, it has products. But all the navigation tabs went away and I realized there`s no way to get back to the home page without using the browser`s back button (Firefox, and it read well).

I got confused with the Search window: Is it a site search or an Amazon.com search? Is this a standalone business, or a subsidiary of Amazon, or are you re-selling Amazon items, or do you have a store on Amazon? I dunno...but didn`t care enough to investigate. If you`re going to use Amazon, change the link text to something like "Click to also search Amazon.com."

The color aren`t unified. The home is pastels, but the Shopping is in-your-face green. The Search tab (not the home page box) was just another list of products with "search" capabilities kind of lost. I expected to see an Advanced Search on its own page, and not see additional product thumbs.

The forums are all backgrounded with white, and very small fonts. Hard on the eyes. Why not have say a white and other light color, alternating as the cell background for each forum topic. Look at the SuN "Main" forum page and you can easily see divisions for main groups, and each sub-topic is easy to see.

Overall it looks like a cool site. It`s just too hard to read, and too hard to get around. The text on the tabs has to definitely be larger, or at least with more contrast, and more pronounced.

Yes your points are thing that bother me as well. I am using an amazon store for now...I know it`s not perfect. I am looking to rent that space to someone or get funding to start an ecommerce solution there. It is day 2 of the launch, I am taking actions on those points already. I am in testing mode right now...so launch is probably not the right word to be using.

I am on a number of forums getting feedback as well as pushing this through myspace for test users to give me feedback on the functionality. I figure once I have enough members and interest...it will be much easier to get funding or atleast advertising so that I can, contract a developer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give a critique. Any others? Any one interested in partnering or investing to get this rolling faster?
