Since this is an announcement, I figure the PR section would be appropraite (I may put the same topic in Things We Missed).

I have recently reopened my Cabo Loco t-shirt site on CafePress.com ( www.cafepress.com/caboloco ).  The shirts, sweatshirts and accessories all have a classy, tropical theme to them.  I know that I will need some help with some HTML stuff for the site, but I would love to hear what you all think of the designs and the layout of the site.  Any and all input is greatly appreciated; good, bad, or indifferent.  If you see something you like, or something a friend would like, please let them know about the site.

Thanks to you all,

Bill

Congratulations on your new website Bill! That`s quite the accomplishment!

I really like your merchandise, and your site has a "fun" quality to it. One thing I wasn`t too fond of is the fact that I need to move my cursor around to see the entire site.

Also, you may want to include an "About Us" section and some testimonials too. This copy will add credibility and a "personal touch" so visitors feel confident buying from you.

Good job!

Melanie

Thanks Melanie.  As far as moving the cursor around to see the entire site, please explain.

Hey....that looks great! Out of curiosity, how much does a site like this cost to put up?

It works for me, doesn`t have anything standing out as a problem. I was able to click to see everything, go to the shopping cart, and all of it. One "wish list" thing would be on the tee shirts where you have them at the bottom in four panels, it`d be nice to click that and see the four images larger. Not a biggie...I just hate having to wear glasses! :-D

Looks pretty good Bill, I had the same question as Craig about costs; I`m familiar with CafePress, but haven`t seen these seemingly more personalized storefronts (admittedly I haven`t followed them for some time).  What`s the cost and effort involved in setting one up (I`m sure the community would be interested to find out about your experience with this service).

I think the community interest relates to the growing disaffection from EBay. Amazon stores look interesting, and we`ve heard a while back about CafePress, but from what you`ve done, it looks a lot more enticing now.
  1. Do they provide stores that sell things other than linen goods?
  2. What`s the basic cost?
  3. How much time did it take to set up what you`re demonstrating here?
  4. Do you have any management of the shopping cart, or its data?
  5. What happens if something goes wrong with order processing?
With all this "do-it-yourself" in Web sites, CafePress may be a viable option.
