as new businessman i will open a new topic dedicated to flyers:)
I did the resarch and find out that this is the most cheapest way for promoting the company. The question i asked myself is : What do i want from the flyer, and what it must do for me. First rule i think it is to attract the reader in 2 seconds. This means if If you didn`t do this the flyer will probably end in a trash or on the floor.You dont want that.
But anyway when you have the flyer in your hand, printed, ready to destribute the most comment questin is how. How to deliver the promoting material that will bring you cliens that you need and fast deliverance with lowest costs.
It is obvious that at, lets say 10.000 or 20.000 flyers is a lot to destribute and that you will need some help. You are not going to deliver them by yourself. Do you? It is a waste of time, money and the material won`t be delivered as it should it be.
I got some ideas that i hope will help you but i will be happy if someone add some more :)
Delivering methods:
1. Post
When postman delivers you post wait for him and then attack:) tell him that you need help at your new company and ask him with great excitement if he can deliver some material to homes in area he works. In most cases if you asked him in a right way he will agree.(some postmans won`t especialy old ones.Then just go to post and wait for younger workers when they go out on the field) But don`t forget to give him something. Maybe some cash or invite him on drink...don`t spare, if you make a good relations with the postman you will have the most effective way for delivering, not just once but for many times.They even know the clients so tell him to skip the clients that can`t benefit your product...like old people. And don`t forget to ask him if some other cooworkers would do it. They will HELP you...(my experience...6 postmans in 3 towns - 5000 flyers will be destributed-cost... 5 drinks and 60 bucks) JUST ASK!
2.Hospital
People waiting for doctor...what did you do when you waited? Boring isn`t it?? waiting in a looong line can help you. How many times did you pick up the flyer or something to read when you waited...what if you put yours there?? do it...but before don`t forget to call the hospitals director and ask him for a little HELP. Just ask.
3.Paying to student
This idea is great.Many younger people need cash.And i`m sure that you know someones son or child...pay him 20 bucks tell him to go in the front of your compeditors door and distribute flyers to their clients.Don`t be affraid to do it. And a good way is to send the student in front of a big market...
4.Bars, caffeteria, restaurant.
Get the owners on the phone and do it like...I need some help...if the owner won`t agree try to compensate(put a small logo of their restaurant on the flyer and make a small promotion for them...in many cases this can be very affective)
5.Your clients
Dont forget to give them 2 or 3 flyers to destribute them to their closest friends...i don`t have to explain this, do I :)
But give it to them only when they go out from your office with a huge smile, because your service is awesome...like before they step out..."Hey mister one more thing before you go. My company is still new and i need some help.Can you help me please?" They WILL say SURE WHAT IS IT.
"If you liked the service and the product, please give this 3 flyers to people that likes YOU most(not that you like most)!!. It will help them and me to develop even better service...tralala what ever the business"
They will distribute the flyers.And don`t forget to add your business cards to the flyer.
