Definitely a worthy approach to not only increase sales but to provide better customer assistance. It's always good to leverage what people are already using and in this case, as you said is internet and mobile devices. Take for example in a restaurant business. As a patron I get the privilege of being informed of today's menu without calling or going to the place myself and that, for me, would certainly be added points. :)

Cheers,

Emma

Mobile apps is a useful tool for today's marketing but not for every industry. Customers may show great enthusiasm towards a certain app when it comes out, but pay attention here, are they really interested or just curious? Actually, reality has shown that it's not worthy for every business to invest thousands even millions on apps R&D. Unless you're sure enough that your customers will take your apps as part of their daily life (so does your business brand), don't rush into the app trap too quickly!

Mobile marketing is defined as using your mobile phone as a marketing tool for companies who want your business and who are willing to send you text messages to do it. While this is certainly a powerful facet of mobile marketing it is not the only one and considering the amount of smart phones now on the market a mobile website might soon become much more important than a simple text message could be. Having your mobile website up and running and able to cater to the unique technological requirements of a smart phone gives you a leg up on the competition especially if you are trying to break out of the one year business failure hurdle.

For those not familiar with Tesco, they are a grocery retail chain that was looking to grow its business in South Korea without adding additional stores. So they decided, that since South Koreans are busy enough, they would bring to the store to them, thereby making it easier for people to buy their groceries on their time, during their daily routine and thus save them the trouble of coming into the actual store. Tesco created virtual stores at subway stops in South Korea.  Consumers could “walk the aisles” as if they were actually in a store, viewing images of products arranged just as they would in the store itself. Using QR technology, people could scan the codes of the products they wished to buy, place them in a virtual shopping cart and their order would be delivered right to their door that same night. According to the company, as a result of this campaign, Online registrations increased by 76% and online sales increased by 130%

Hi...Its very interesting concept that everybody get attetion,  yes i do agree with Emma, spider,as they shared the information was right. There are 40 million Americans using their mobile devices to search the web; that's over 15% of American web users. In many developing nations most users' primary method of connecting to the Internet is via mobile devices. Women aged 35 to 54 are the most active group in mobile specialisation,By 2014, Mobile internet should take over desktop internet usage, when something grows fastly it depends up on the marketing only.
