Hi,

I have been pretty obsessed by the idea that the best books on management and startups are written by people who themselves make successful companies or organizations.

The problem with this is that they usually don`t write books. Recently I even created a web page to list the ones that I know (http://www.apprenticequest.com/).

Have you managed to read some? What are your impressions? Do you know some that I missed from the list?

For management books, have you heard of Winning by Jack Welch? Great book. No, he isnt an entrepreneur, but he was considered to be a "legendary CEO", which would definitely make him an authority as far as management goes.

Hi Matt,

I didn`t know about that one. I did a quick research. Jack Welch was the "legendary CEO" of General Electric at 1981-2001, and turns out he has written even two memoirs. One is the Winning that you mentioned, and another one is the Straight from the Gut, written a bit earlier.

I added those to my list now. Thanks for the hint!
