2009 Announcements

We believe that 2009 is the "Year of the Entrepreneur" and we have focused our energies over the past year to ensure that we provide you with the knowledge, resources, tools, and networking to deliver.

StartupNation will launch significant enhancements, new tools, and features at www.startupnation.com. Of course, all for free.

Note:  The launch date for the new community benefits and functionality has been revised due to the scale of the relaunch and to ensure that we make the transition as smooth as possible for the entire StartupNation community.  Thanks for your patience and we will post the new launch date as soon as we have it.

New passwords for all current StartupNation Community members.

Because of the significant overhaul of the existing StartupNation Community system, we will be emailing all of our members new account passwords. You will be able to change these passwords after your first login to the new system.

Why new passwords? StartupNation stores all member passwords using one-way, security encryption, making it impossible for us to simply copy your existing passwords to the new system. You will also be able to request the new password online using the "forgot password" option.

Some of what to expect with the new StartupNation features:

  • Local, local, local - StartupNation is focusing many of the new member features on making it easier for you to connect with other members in your area. Some of these features include local groups, events, Google© maps integration, enahanced contact lists, and more.
  • Groups - Join or become the leader of public or private groups. Groups may be created around common interests, locality, business partnering, and more. Groups members can exchange dialog in their own forums, share videos and photos in their galleries, host events, create group polls, and more.
  • Multimedia - Create a podcast, upload your videos, share product photos, establish yourself as an expert through rich media experiences...
  • Entrepreneur Blogsphere - Share your experiences, wisdom, industry expertise and more through your own StartupNation blog. Discover the latest trends, tricks of the trade and more by reading other members blogs.
  • Classifieds - We are replacing the existing Marketplace with straight-forward classifieds to make it easier to do and find business. Offer your products or services, or post what you are seeking.
  • Super Member Profiles - We are significantly enhancing your member profile to truly "profile" your business and your expertise.
  • More to come - This is just the tip of the iceberg on what`s to come in 2009 at StartupNation.

Hi Joel,

We all know how dedicated everyone in the StartupNation Community is, and we are looking forward to the changes that will be taking place.  I wish that I could tell everyone just how much information is available at www.startupnation.com .  I have given the site a nickname "reliable resource" because its has become my ultimate reference guide.  Even though I don`t comment on each visit I usually visit the site at least two or more times a day.

Please continue to provide us with your useful information.

Sandy K.
