(as fathers we seem to forget we all had these or similar thoughts)

A guys thoughts up to the age of 10 pretty much revolves around -

- How much more time do I have to play?
- Boy, I hope those girls don`t ask to play with us EUCCCHHHH!
- Where is mom and dad? I lost them here in the Mall..MOMMMMMMYYYYY!
- Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Nintendo, Sony, XBox

Bonus: So I like to cook a lot and I like to pass along some miniscule experience on my cooking..here is one little bit of fun:

Cooking Da Peeg Island style -

So you want to have a taste of Hawaii but live in Medicine Hat, Montana and you find it a little hard to grab the kids and drive to the islanders local favorite restaurant in the North Shore? Well you can try this Pork BBQ to either feed a few family members or the whole Ranch.

Kalua Pig
 - this is similar but different from your North Carolinian BBQ(mine is moister). You do start with the Butt of a Pig...NOT THE SHOULDER....about 10 -15 lbs, take the Butt and cut it into pieces about 2 by 4 inches and lay it in a pan that is about 3-4 inches deep(like a turkey roaster pan)

Take kosher salt and shake it generously all over the meat(pork is very forgiving).  You can take garlic powder(I prefer fresh chopped garlic) and spread about 1/3 cup over the meat.  Get liquid smoke and place about 1/4 cup  over the meat.

Poor into the pan about 2 1/2 inches of water. cover the pan TIGHTLY with foil. Place in the oven at 325 degrees for approx 4-5 hours.  You can test it by opening the foil and with a fork see if the meat falls apart.  (also if you have a party that is later in the day...you simply turn the temp down to 200 degrees and let it continue to cook...this will easily stay moist for 5 more hours at that temp(just make sure there is at least a little liquid in the pan)

When ready to serve take two forks and shred all the meat mixing it in with the liquids. You can serve this with a spicy BBQ sauce of your making or off the shelf on top of a bun with slaw on the side or on top of the sandwich, or serve it with  baked beans, corn on the cob...or if you want it island style..you make sticky rice, mac salad and island slaw(let me know if you want the recipes for these)

Aloha Ya`all

Hey 24hour -

Glad you`re here and thanks so much for posting.  Those are some interesting thoughts you tossed out here.

I just wanted to let you know, however, that as StartupNation grows and becomes the place to find answers, encouragement and support for entrepreneurs, our guidelines are continually being updated and revised and reinterpreted.  To that end please don`t just "repost" articles from your personal blog.  I noticed that as you`ve dived into the forums, you did this very thing in a few different categories.

By all means, ask questions, offer answers to questions, bring in lively discussion, even a bit of controversy if it`s kept appropriate and on topic.  But please don`t just copy/paste something you`ve opined about on your blog or in some other forum somewhere.  We liken that to spamming the forums and honestly are trying to keep that from happening.  Just imagine if everyone did that, it would truly lessen the value that these forums offer.

Anyway, we`re glad your here, you obviously have a lot of experience that you can and are willing to share.  Thank you so much for that.  I look forward your continued posting!

hmmm....I am new..so my apologies...are you saying that I cannot bring in post from another Blog?  Or that I can only post the same information on one category at a time?  I did do a multiple post in "Doing Business on the Web"...Please let me know and I will adhere to the best of my abilities...

What if I post here in this Forum first THEN I copy into my personal Blog. Is that allowable?  Also again, I did make 3 post of the same topic  in the "Doing Business on the Web" , I thought it would be fun and informative for the members, but obviously feel free to delete the "extra" postings if you see fit.

As you can see I am not trying to sell anything(at least yet :-)).  I just find your site fun and informative and wanted to jump in and see if I had value for the members.

Thanks

For some general information (not specific to SUN) on Blogs vs Forums, try this link:

Not really..now I am more confused..since when I post on my Blog I am posting both an idea that is meant to ignite conversation as well as answer questions.  Since many of my posts are a response to the myriad of questions I am asked on a daily basis that I thought to encapsulate in places such as this (at least I started here), since I was directed here from my Blog.  Also, so you know I have not till this time posted to Blogs other than the one I have and now to this Forum.

I was reading the Community Guidelines thinking I could have it more clearly explained but nowhere in the guidelines does it state I cannot post on a blog and in a forum the same material.  However in the terms of Use it does state that Startupnation can in essence choose to take action where it sees fit without my permission.

So I am at a loss as to what I can and cannot do...aw well...I thought that I had a great forum that I could participate in...

Thanks

First of all, apologies aren`t necessary and don`t go anywhere yet.  We`re glad you`re here, truly.

I will try to address your concerns, unfortunately I don`t have time today.  Thanks for being here, we appreciate your enthusiasm!  I`ll post again later today or tomorrow!

Igniting conversations is exactly what we want to have happen so please, ignite away (be nice of course).

If you blog about something that lends itself to either an existing conversation or makes for a great new thread, then by all means, draw out of it the major bullet points and outline them in a post.  Ask for feedback and input.

Use your blog to really flesh out the bullet points from your perspective, use the forums to highlight your thoughts, asking for others opinions and ideas.

Does that help any or did the waters get even muddier?!?

Oh, and by the way, go here to sell away:  Marketplace
