Since The first of the year I have been posting 5 reviews daily of Do Follow forum, blogs, and Social media site. The program focuses on branding and networking while we build backlinks to our websites. It Is part of what I call Scratch Your Back Marketing which is all about giving to receive. I just finished Day 104. You can find the program here at Tucson SEO.

The program is absolutely free while it remains on our website. It will be moved to a paid membership site later this summer. I would also ask that you consider voting for Tucson SEO Solutions in the Home Based 100.

Your blog posts are fantastic!  Thanks so much for dedicating the time to do that!  I`m curious - why 109 days?  Why not 110 or 111?   I voted for you!

It seemed like the thing to do at that time. There were so many 100 and 101 ways to do things so I went for 109.

Well, it is what it says on the box- Scratch My Back. You are getting people to scratch your back blatantly. Not sure you have the skills to return the favour.

You could have done better by actually implementing SEO to improve your page first. ( Tucson non-SEO page).

  • Your page title says: %page_title%.
  • Your 109 day update posts are just the same bunch of links and

self-publicity advert. Enlighten me if you are talking anything valuable there.

  • Did I mention the page which promises people hundreds of backlinks,

actually itself has a grand total of ONE backlink with Unranked PR.

( as per Google).

I DONOT have any intention of sabotaging your party buddy, but if you are selling SEO services, better display your Proficiency aptly. Read the chapter on Proficiency in 4 P of Web-Marketing paper. Very relevant for you.

blog2hersh, not to rain on anyones parade, but his alexa rank is about 50k, yours is 488k and 600k.  Now the amount of traffic between a 50k site and 488k site is exponentially different.  So i would have to say he is doing something right.  I plan on checking out his site to get my site which is even worse with a 1 million ranking...hoping i can learn something to get to the 50k ranking

EricBoomer, I have neither the time nor the intention to argue. I have two questions for you to ponder for your own benefit:-

  1. You think Alexa Rank is the ONLY definitive pointer towards a site's success? My both sites are less than 6 months old. Ask him how well did he do in first 6 months? And my friend please never rate PR above Alexa rank.( mine is PR 4 and PR 3 )
  2. How come he has NO backlinks on the actual page where this program is advertised? And how could a basic SEO mistake be done by someone proclaiming to be an expert( forgetting to write the Title tag)

Let me share one more secret my friend if you didn't know it already, Alexa rank is only the measure of traffic coming from browsers with Alexa tool bar installed.Go and ask your prospective clients, how many have the toolbar installed. 'cos thats the only traffic you should be interested in.

By the way the white-paper I sugegsted you guys to read has been downloaded more than 2000 times in 3 months. Maybe you could benefit as well.

best,

H

blog2hersh,

1. Yes, I know Alexa Rank is not a definitive pointer to a sites success.  But its a key indicator, just like comscore (but i don't have comscore at my finger tips).

2. I have no answers to why he has no backlinks, I actually didn't really look at his page :)

3. I still don't understand why you say he doesn't have a title tag...because he does :)

4. Its all just friendly convo :)

1. Yes, I know Alexa Rank is not a definitive pointer to a sites success.  But its a key indicator, just lke comscore (but i don't have comscore at my finger tips).

I appreciate your point, but as you yourself said its not 'a definitive pointer'. Its a general way of predicting traffic where you dn't  have access to a site's Analytics stats. It's never going to be a rule of thumb.

2. I have no answers to why he has no backlinks, I actually didn't really look at his page :)

This worried me the most. A webpage that proclaims to render backlinks donot actually have any backlinks itself! Maybe it never crossed his mind or whatever.

3. I still don't understand why you say he doesn't have a title tag...because he does :)

Well, I really hoped that upon reading this post he'd probably sort this out. But no. Just check  the View Source if you dn't believe me. I really hope that you know where to find  the Title of any webpage. Presently it is "%page_title%", which is a default given by cms. Title is one of the MOST important onpage SEO factor. It must contain your main keyword/s.

4. Its all just friendly convo :)

Really Really Glad You Mentioned This! Hope for more friendly banters here!!

Thanks,

Hersh
