Consider real estate agents who have one option of doing a short video, but another option of doing a panoramic slide show. The difference is in the jerkiness of the presentation...but we get that with cell-phone news footage from Iraq. I think people pretty much can read through the halting frame-by-frame, wouldn`t you think?

jwatkins - I just wanted to pile-on to let you know that I think this website is a great idea.  I hope to not have to be finding a job soon, but if I were, I would definitely be visiting your site to get help.  I also like the video uploading idea - I agree with you that there are lots of young people who are pretty comfortable with making/editing/uploading video (wit. YouTube) - especially now with most laptops coming with built-in webcams and Windows` MovieMaker and Apple`s iMovie.  I actually just made my first YouTube video a week or two ago and it was fun and easy on my Mac and I`ve never done any video work before - I`m going to be doing a lot more in the future I think (once I get over the fact that I look and sound pretty terrible on video!)

Good luck!

Thanks condredge for the positive feedback,

I know in my heart that this will be big. However, finding people to add a few videos to get started is proving to be difficult. There are thousands or maybe millions who will do it but in my small circle of influence I don`t know many with the capability or the guts to be the first. Is this a viable opportunity? Definitely! There is a website (the name escapes me right now) that allows people to post their "Elevator pitches" to the public or to private groups that has just been started. That company received several million dollars in startup funding. So any idea that uses user generated videos is going to get attention.

So Condredge, What would it take for you to add a few videos?

Well, I might be coerced into making one or two - however being an Entrepreneur and having only really had like one `real` job in my life which was five years ago, I`m not sure how much use I would be making a video for you. Maybe you can find YouTube videos that already exist on the topic and embed them into your website?  Or ask the people who made them to come submit videos on your site...

My plan is to solicit videos from different sources such as youtube and  others. However, the site is incomplete until I can get a few videos. It`s almost like a new house with no paint. For instance if you were to start a site like SuN with a great forum, you`d need posts on the forum before going live. No one wants to be the first, that`s why I`m trying to ask for help from friends. So go ahead and post a few.

You may be able to get some introductory material by working with SCORE. I`m not sure, but it seems I heard they may offer "interview practice" for people entering or re-entering the job market. If so, you might volunteer to act as a cameraman.

The benefit to them would be video of practice interviews they could go over with the participants. With a signed release, the benefit to you would be raw material to get the site "bulked up" with some initial content? Maybe? Or maybe you could just put an ad in the paper offering free video of a job interview practice session.

The exchange is the respondent gets a disk, you get to use the video online....?

Definitely a good idea for a website.  One of the biggest flaws of our leading Universities is their inability to prepare future graduates for interviews.  To CraigL`s point on page 1, with regards to people who do not have video capability, why not add an area where you can sell (and users can buy) video equipment and instructions that would enable users to post videos?  This would create an additional revenue stream for your website, as well as open up your site to more users.  The $100 or so dollars people would pay to get the video equipment is a drop in the bucket compared to the salary they make when they land a good job.  Just a thought.  Also, just another small point, but you have a typo on your homepage.  "Now sure what to wear..." should be "Not sure what to wear..."  Again, great idea and good luck
