one thing i`ve found over time is that the more you teach (or "share" in this case), the more you learn.
That is SO totally true!!
One of the biggest problems for an entrepreneur is being isolated from
other people and their thinking, ideas, critiques, and opinions. The
result is to fall into a belief system that whatever we think,
individually, it "must be right."
A secondary problem with that isolation is to believe that because we
"simply know" that something is impossible, therefore it is. We don`t
even attempt to solve an "obviously" impossible problem because we
can`t imagine or envision any other way of doing things.
The third problem, in context, is that we can only ask whatever
questions we dream up in our own mind. We never ask "ridiculous"
questions because we feel they`re exactly that---ridiculous.
Being part of a group in any way has a tremendous impact on these three
aspects of isolation. So many times we just assume that because we know
something, it must be right, true, and correct. We bandy around
thoughts, rules, beliefs, and so on, never questioning at all that we
may be completely wrong.
Conversation, discussion, debate, education---all these forms of
interactive communication help test our assumptions, push us in
directions we`d never have imagined, and generally make demands on what
can become mental laziness.
There`s nothing better than working out ways to explain complex ideas
to either people who`ve never heard of them, or even better, to a
7-yearold. :-) The sorts of questions you get in return are amazing,
and stretch the mind in fantastic directions.
