I have a quick question that I keep getting mixed answers on. I have an investor (personal friend) that is willing to invest in my start up company. My question is, would this investor have any sort of tax write offs for this investment amount?

Please help! Thanks!!

Dani_g,

In a "typical" investment scenario, there is no federal tax deduction for the amount invested. However, one can structure it so that they receive the "benefit" of any operating losses during the early years.

If you want to discuss your specific situation, feel free to drop me a PM or contact me directly.
