We want Richard Branson to post here on StartupNation. He is the consumate rags to riches entrepreneur, totally fearless, creative, driven, and just crazy enough to step up to the challenge - to come post at StartupNation.
Now folks, how do we get him here? Do you want to do some talking with Richard Branson? I do. We just need to get him here...
One thing does concern me, though, and that is how will we know that it`s really him?!
Ask him!
In writing my own books and articles I`ve always been amazed how easy it sometimes is to make direct contact with biggies in my own industry. Usually it just takes a phone call or an email and they respond personally. The person who inspired me to be a graphic designer is
Milton Glaser. He`s probably best know for creating the original "I Love NY" graphic with the heart in place of the word "love"and for a beautiful Bob Dylan album cover. In 1974 he published the book
Graphic Design - which gave a name to what I wanted to do when I grew up and showed me that someone could make a living in an artistic profession. Nearly 30 years later I wanted to include him in my first book - so, I emailed him. He responded! I nearly wet my pants. A few months later I was able to meet my idol and inspiration in person and he was an incredibly nice man.
To be sure it`s Branson might take a little back-and-forth on the phone. I recently saw Donald Trump talking about when the Emmys wanted him to sing the theme from "Green Acres" on the annual awards show. His office initially thought it was some kind of practical joke phone call. They asked for a number to call back, allowing them to make sure they were actually in contact with the Emmy Awards people. Sure enough, they really were calling to ask him to sing the theme song - and he agreed to do so in overalls!
StartupNation would be a prefect place for a Branson interview or opportunity for members to ask questions via postings. Go for it!
