Voice recognition has been a dream for years. IBM started the effort. Somebody must have seen "Scotty" in Star Trek bark "computer" to a screen and everything went like silk.

Back to the real-world. "Dragon" has become much more reliable over the years, more is to their credit. BUT,... voice recognition is principally targetted to word processing. It is worth a hoot at spreadsheets.

When you look at their claims of 98.?% accuracy, it looks good. However there is a "training-period" for the software to learn your speach. If it has been a long-day in Detroit and your are absolutely beat, Dragon may not do wo well.

The only salvation fron Dragon miscues is a damned good spell-checker.

No Operationg System is ready for Dragon. Lord knows what Microsoft Vista will do to the poor souls who fall for that resource-eating bloat-ware.

Sorry for the rant.
