I`m assuming that you already know how to sail?

If not, why not try this out ...http://www.offshore-sailing.com/

Rich,

Not bad this time of year.  A bit hot but who cares by the pool.  And yes the resturant "Elements" has amazing views.

based on some of the ideas you guys/gals have, you may find me gone for about two weeks instead of just 3-4 days...

thanks a lot for the ideas. i hope i get far enough away--and detoxed enough--to let my mind cook up lots of creative ideas.

isn`t it so true that some of the best ideas come when you`re outside of the routine and being exposed to new stuff?

If you`re headed to a tropical location, you can test the "Swayne Hypothesis," that being: people who dare to wear Speedos or thongs are precisely the people who should not wear Speedos or thongs.

Have a fun, safe trip!

If sitting on a somewhat deserted beach on a small island at a casually elegant resort with no phones, television, clocks or kids appeals to you – try Ambergris Caye Belize – Victoria House Resort.   Great fishing, snorkeling and food and not yet that commercialized.   I went two years ago and friends went last month for their honeymoon – the place is absolutely amazing!

new yakas are the BEST!!! i actually get hugly recharged when i find myself on the streets of the greatest city in the world, a moniker i have no problems giving to NYC. i can`t even explain the amount of energy i feel when i`m running the streets there with all of those incredibly capable, diverse, passionate, and ambitious people passing to and fro.

now, back to the beach.

Hi Rich,

What about Bermuda?  I`m actually going to Vegas for Kentucy Derby weekend...don`t you think it is prosaic for an entrepreneur to go to Vegas?

Rich - BVI is THE place to go - 4 days is short but go! As far as I`m concerned, all the VI are great. Best vacations I have ever had.

Did 2 sailing trips there with other couples. 1995 a 50` Morgan with just a captain for week - we helped sail it. 2000 a 78` Irwin for a week with Captain, wife, and chef - certified divers. Go to www.bareboats.com and look up the sailboat "Irie" - the captain and his wife are just wonderful and the food was like gourmet every meal - price is all inclusive - drink and dive all you want. We broke their charter record on margaritas and beer drank on the 2000 trip.

Was planning a short trip down there this year but fell through. Found a place on St. Croix, USVI call Villa Margarita - http://www.villamargarita.com - check it out. Small place, but located well on this less crowded USVI compared to the other two. Most tourists don`t go here. We`ll get there one day and will look these folks up. Recommended by some friends who stayed here and they loved the inn, the owners, and the island. Prices are a little lower right now.

If you go, post a report once you return.

Danny (my b.f.) and I did a 4-day in the Riviera Maya last August and it was heaven.  A couple days of diving, a couple of beach, gorgeous weather, amazing beach and water, quiet, no stress.  It was also nice because the flight was relatively short, and there wasn`t a lot of travel once we got there, which is nice when you only have four days.
