What kind of promotion methods have you already tried? Have you done any article marketing with Ezine Articles? How about creating a Squidoo lens about website gloves and how they make a difference for boxers with a link to your site.
If you're selling your site on eBay you want to have a link to your site in your eBay profile.and promote it.
There's also submitting to free classified ads. Using pay-per-click advertising to promote your sites to people interested in boxing.
How about commenting on sports and boxing forums?
Think of your intended audience and how you can reach them best. Where would they hang out? Use google's keyword tool to determine what keywords are related to your niche that people are probably looking for.
The 1st and most important thing you should do is to know about your competitors. Just shortlist 5 or 10 competitors and try to learn about their strategy. Once you have their strategy, you can try to replicate what they are doing. If you succeed in doing even 50% of the total work/linking they have done, you will quickly start giving them competition.

You'll also want to know how you're going to compete against other companies. Are you going to compete on price or quality? Better customer service or better location (online vs. offline)?
It sounds to me like you have a lot of research to do before you ever start a business.
Wonderful posts guys. Survival means different things to different people. For some, survival is breaking even... for others it could mean having enough to not worry about expenses. Regardless, when starting requires a lot of hard work and persistence to get the businesses going.
