13. What is your marital status?

That particular question does not allow for "partnered, but not married" or "in a long-term relationship."

Not all people can legally get married or want to be married...

- J.

Thanks Jeff - demographic questions are invariably tough, I`ll factor this in for future studies!

Jeff, I apologize for being rude and using the word nit-picky. The apolgy
was left out of my last note. Sorry again . . .

You are probably right although several of the offered responses did not
fit perfectly to my situation if it were something I felt as strongly about as
you do to #13 I would have spoken up too. Speaking up IS how change
happens.

Your website is incredible! I love your bold colorful logos. You are a gifted
artist.

In my days of conducting interviews of prospective employees for a certain Fortune 50 company, asking about marital status was a no-no. It doesn`t belong, and is not relevant in most if not all cases. And if the question was asked in the SUN survey, the option existed to either not respond to that question or to simply not participate in the survey. Easy!

And I haven`t seen anything rude in this thread. My opinion? Mr. Spock is right. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. We all have votes. The needs of society outweigh the needs of the individual, which is why we discuss issues, present viewpoints, and vote.

Enjoy seeing the web and computer languages and methodologies evolve, or rather, revolve, for over 20 years! Revolve = rename and repackage the same old features and processes, and claim that the old is actually new!

Just a quick update, the survey will be closed in a few days, and we`ll draw for the winner of the camera as soon as that happens.  Look for an announcement here of the winner - thanks for your outstanding feedback!

Hey Fellas, Here goes another idea that might help the community.
Currently in the market place we only see text ads. Are you guys thinking about letting Community members upload their banners? Example: I want to run a promotion on the market place, I want to be able to upload a banner, enter information such as how many days am I running the promotion for, and then the banner automatically deactivates. or perhaps you can choose how many promotions you want to run and the number of people that sign up.
Also, Please get rid of all those Banners that are posted all over the web site.
I thought we where a close community where you can only be a member if you sign up? Instead of having company`s like buy domain.com and microsoft, why not let the community post their adds...
Im stating this because "Buydomains.com is a competitor of mine... and that is not cool...
You guys are basically crushing a small business to put 2.00 bucks in your pocket through their affiliate program.. Not that I am hurting over two bucks but its cold.
Just my thoughts nothing else..

Not that I have read the rest of these responses ... to see if SUN has responded to this themselves ...

But online advertising is billions every year. Yahoo makes pretty much ALL of their money through it.

The ads ... well, while being a pain, I feel are a necessity, because they fund all the free features you take for granted here. A site this large takes A LOT of money to build and maintain, and without these ads ... no site. The Sloan Brothers are not a nonprofit, nor is this site a hobby - they can`t shell all their money into it and make a negative profit every year!

If you want to be a little guy and compete with microsoft and dell ... find some more people to pool your resources together with to create the advertising budget of microsoft or dell. Or, until then ... enjoy the perks of these ads through this community you are using right now.

FWIW, just being here is free advertising for you. FREE! SUN is giving you the opportunity to advertise yourself FOR FREE both in the community and in the marketplace. Did I mention FREE? Now those ads are looking pretty good, eh? Think of SUN as Robin Hood ... taking money from Microsoft and Dell to  give free advertising to the little guy.

Hello all respondents! We did randomly draw a name from the hat to win the digital camera, but I haven`t been able to get a response from them as of yet! I`m giving them until tomorrow to respond, but if I don`t hear from them I`ll be pulling another name as the winner. Keep ya posted.

Well, it only took a couple of attempts (don`t people want a free camera!), but we have a winner and her name is Patricia Treskovich - congratulations! And thanks to everyone for participating.
