We’re ½ way through the StartupNation “Capture the Flag” Contest so I thought I’d post an update on how the contest’s going. Who’s won so far, what you can win this week, and the feedback we’ve received from the community.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. You’re telling us that you’re:

  • Having Fun
  • Learning about the site, and thus ….
  • Getting smarter

What’s the one consistent suggestion for improvement heading into the 2nd and final week of the contest?

  • It’s TOO Easy!!!

I knew that we have smart & motivated people in the StartupNation community. I should have known that we also have highly competitive entrepreneurs who love a challenge! You’re here for many reasons and you appreciate being mentally stimulated. It’s the old “Steel sharpens Steel” analogy.

OK. We’ll be making Days 6 – 10 more challenging for you overachievers. Get ready. Come prepared. Let’s have a fun & wild ride this week.

Here are the week 1 winners who “had it easy” and links to the “Winner” announcement post for each day:

Day 1 – Monday January 29: 2TheMattresses

Day 2 – Tuesday January 30: April

Day 3 – Wednesday January 31: conciergelady

Day 4 – Thursday February 1: nicolep91

Day 5 – Friday February 2: Deck

What can you win this week? We’re gonna leave it up to you. Day 6 will be $100 of a Marketplace Listing – your choice. What would you like to see for Days 7 – 10? The prize is $100 worth of something – what should each day be?

And remember the Grand Prize is $1,000!

Special Reminder: You may capture all of last week`s flags to get entered into each daily prize drawing going forward, and the Grand Prize drawing. You may enter once for each flag!

If you missed the previous flags or even if you haven`t captured any flags yet, head on over to the Contest Announcement post & catch up!

Perhaps a $100 gift certificate for office supplies? (Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, etc.)
