I have been coming up with different ideas for start-ups over the last year or so. I don't have a lot of money so I was thinking to kick things off, I would start a mobile advertising business. Ive got a few things worked out, but want some outside feedback. It would be removable (magnets) ads placed on cars.  Companies would pay to have their ad on a car for a month at a time, and people would rent out their vehicle space. The vehicle owners would get a percentage of what the company pays. Think it has potential? ANY feedback would be awesome, thanks.

Check with your local and state regulations.  Advertizing on vehicles in New Jersey is a challenge:  Truck or Commercial tags, etc. 

Sounds a neat idea. But you need to do your homework thoroughly before going into business.

I personally would not touch anything that nobody else is doing somewhere else, not unless I was prepared to lose a bit of money on it, which if I understand correctly is not your case.

True, if you have brainwave and find something nobody else has done you could sweep the decks with your idea. But chances are if nobody is currently doing it its because others have tried and failed, so you would be better leaving well alone.

I would go on Google look if anybody is doing anything similar. Its better and easier to copy and improve someone elses idea than go out and out on your own on a project.

You need to focus on an easy market, one thats already there and that maybe you know you something about and have passion for.

Don't ask here. Go out and ask your potential customers if they would like to buy advertising on car magnets. If not, then you have your answer.

Your idea is great. I am sure advertisers would go for it. The main challenge you will face is the idea is easily replicable. So moment other companies see you have some success, they will start it themselves. You need to work on how you will stay a step ahead of competition and new entrants in the market.
