You need take out your notepad and try answering the 5Ws: What, Why, Where, When, How.

After answering the questions, I am sure you can come out with specific questions that will get your actionable answers.

Where to get merchandises?
Have you tried looking up the suppliers directory or manufacturers directory that are available at most book stores or libraries? Also, if you are planning to import these merchandises from overseas, try to register and browse around sites like Alibaba.com.
