Hello All!!  I finally started my pet sitting business. I'm very excited even though I only have two clients, but I know it will grow to more soon.  My husband and I are still working our regular jobs, because we can't  afford to quit right now.  The problem we are having is trying to hire someone to work for us.  I had two potential employee's, but they turned out to be flakes.  I can not take the chance of having a problem when I'm just getting started.  I'm placing an ad today in a local paper.  What is the best site to use to run a backgroud check?  Also is it possible to link an application to a e-mail address?  As you can see I need a little bit of help in this dept.   Thanks.

You can try the background screening service of Kroll.  We've been using them for years now.  In addition to using a professional background screening service, you should also ask your applicants for references and do your own reference checks.  Ideally, your applicant's references should be people who they have previously worked for.
