I NEED YOUR INPUT!! Here is a small side project I’ve been working on. Originally I wanted a way to get recommendations from my facebook friends on restaurants and wineries to visit in different places, but without bothering them. So I built a tool that sorted through all of their facebook likes, and grouped restaurants and wineries together based on the number of friends who have either liked or checked in to that place. The more of my friends that liked them, the higher on the list they were. The tool served its purpose. In the process of putting this together I learned something else. Seeing everything a person likes on facebook in one place gives you an interesting glimpse into their personality (even if it’s just on the surface). I know facebook already makes this information available to you, but it’s under quite a few layers, and there is something about seeing a person’s likes all on one page displayed “pinterest style” that makes it interesting. After some encouragement and prodding, I put a simple user interface together and got some proper hosting, and now we have www.flustr.com . Log in using facebook, and you can see all of the things your friends like, all of the links they have shared, all of the places they have checked into, and make custom lists of things. Just a heads up – it’s very basic and buggy, but if enough people find it interesting, I’ll clean up the design and the code, and move forward with making it better. I’m interested in what you think, how you would like to see things grouped/organized, what information you would like to see, and anything else you would like to share. I’ve already been playing around with mapping likes as well as a few interesting ways of organizing people based on likes – Any suggestions/feedback would be greatly appreciated. So please try it out, click on things, search for things and let me know what you think I’m curious about the market for something like this -
www.flustr.com
thanks in advance!
