Yes, I would like to see what others think about this topic. I`m being considered to write a weekly blog on this topic for a major media company. I would do it even if they were not going to pay me.
I think that entrepreneurs are the people that can help solve the problems and challenges of the nonprofits across the country. Most social workers that have traditionally run nonprofits have no clue how to do it. There is more today than having a yearly fund raiser or sitting down to write a grant in successfully running a nonprofit. There is need for knowledge in strategic management, finances, and most importantly marketing.
I have 34 years of marketing, public relations, promotions and corporate sponsorship marketing experience that I can bring to the table to help nonprofits. I have done this in the past when I lived in Atlanta.
Now I have started my own project at http://www.7thaven.org in order to bring the skills of several entrepreneurs together to solve the problems of developing affordable housing for the homeless and poor around the world. We are getting tremendous response for this project and believe that we will soon make an appearance with Oprah. Check us out at http://www.7thaven.org.
I would love to start a topic on this subject and get thoughts from the members.
