From "News of the Weird," September 2008.

Entrepreneurs: Sarah Lavely opened Sarah`s Smash Shack in downtown San Diego this summer, inviting people who are angry at someone or something to slam ceramic plates, vases and glass pieces (such as framed photographs of an ex-) against walls in special rooms (15 minutes, 15 plates, $45). [San Diego Union- Tribune, 9-3-08]

Australian Wool Innovation recently introduced, for the Japanese executives` market, a washable business suit that can be cleaned in an ordinary shower and will dry overnight, virtually wrinkle-free (and, in a pinch, can even be worn in the shower). [news.com.au-Australian Associated Press, 9-22-08]

Ideas aren`t even worth a dime a dozen, but when you actually put those ideas into play, THEN you`ve got something that might be worth money. :-)

For those who in that group that believes all the good ideas are gone, they only need to scan through some of the hundreds of ideas and business opportunities entered in this year`s SuN`s Top 100 contest to learn how wrong they are.

And they might also see something that although not new, could work for them in their situation.

I read that article a few days ago and I love the idea. There is some Franchise potential there. Even for the casual clients who just want to feel what it is like to break something. I would visit at least once.

one of the more common mistakes made is the perception that something new has to be created/started.  why not leverage something that is already in place and adding more value to it? take something and enhance it? take a few things and consolidate them?  there are many ways to leverage what is already out there and not recreate the wheel.  one should consider all options before answering that question...

Exactly. You guys all are right on about all the many ways to start a business. :-) We get so many people wondering how or what to do, but all it takes is a bit of imagination.

I agree Craig, there are many great ideas out there but as stated, the key is getting them implemented. I heard that Google had 150,000 ideas submitted to them just last week whereas up to 5 will get funded;  millions. Atleast Google is doing something to put good ideas into action. :)

its GOOGLE that`s why lol. I have always thought if you had a great idea...went to google..that they might fund you and be on your side (budget wise)..Do you guys think it`s better to engage in your own startup by you and your team..or just slide into google`s back pocket?

think of the pro`s and con`s!

If only that suit could be worn to bed, showered in, and then dry by the time I got to work!

...whoever could sell that on commission would be a millionaire twenty times over!
