Well, I waited all day to see if we had any sad, sad, comments from crying OSU fans or any glad, glad commnets from the Gator Nation fans. So far, I see nothing.

Contrary to all of the "professional" sports pundits out there prior to the BIG game that had the Gators losing BIG, the boys from Gainesville proceeded to put a big ole southern whoop-as* on the Buckeyes. Not surprising to those of us in the south that follow SEC football. The reason you won`t probably see an undefeated SEC team is that it is the toughest conference in the NCAA. The Buckeyes found out first hand on Monday night.

Plus, the Gators had "want to." They just wanted it more. They were the definite underdogs in the game going in - in the "professional" viewpoint. But those people underestimated Coach Meyers and the Gators ... a BIG, BIG mistake. But that did not deter the Gators to be the underdog. In fact, OSU getting a quick touchdown was probably the best thing that happened to the Gators. It just made` em more determined.

I`m not a Gator fan. I root for the GA DAWGs. But for one night, I was a Gator fan, rooting for the SEC. The Gators made the SEC proud last night.

From a business perspective, keep what the Gators did in the back of your mind. Have that same determination and drive. Build a good team. Coach your business well. When the "play" doesn`t work out as planned, get up and get back in the game - stay the course on the overall game plan - don`t let mometary setbacks kick your butt. Don`t give up. Give your all for the entire game. Keep score. Measure. The rewards are great for those that put everything into the Game of Work.

I`ll close with condolences to all you Buckeye fans and tell you that at least you made it to the big dance. Better luck next time

Crimson Tide fan here...so I`m with ya on the SEC rout.

I do hope yesterday`s game will finally cause 2 things to happen:

  • Put to rest, once & for all, the pointlessly silly debates about which conference is the toughest.
  • Turn the BCS into a true playoff series

My father is a diehard Buckeyes fan, so making that call to him this morning was a delicate task, for sure.

Chris ... Roll Tide. Good luck with Saban ... he might be as good as Urban ... The DAWGS are looking at another tough year ... but what`s new in the SEC .... right? Shula got a bad deal ... oh well, life in the NCAA coaching world ... we should have million dollar troubles.

Shula gets a check for $63,000 every month until 2012.  I would like a bad deal like that!!!!

I`m a BIG Ohio State fan, and I was just plain embarrassed Monday night.

I am not going to fuel the debate over the toughest conference `cause I`ve seen complete underdogs defeat reigning champs hundreds of times with no really good explanation except that it happened.  OSU didn`t even show any emotion after the game.  As much as I hate to see football players cry, I`ve seen lots of them cry after a big loss like that.  There was nothing, not a single tear to be seen anywhere.  Maybe they were like me: in a state of shock that Florida rolled over them like we were standing still.

Heck, I`d have taken standing still over all the yards we lost.

At least the script Ohio is still THE BEST performance of any band in the land!

RepMessenger - I concede your point - not a bad deal for Shula, for sure. Just hated to see such a good coach get booted after the good job he had done in three years ... just didn`t beat Auburn ... and that`s a hanging offense in Tide Land.

Ohio State has not played like that all year and it was horrible to see such a great team get down and have no fight.  I totally agree that there needs to be a playoff style system.  I was reading some articles on it and I think the best way to do it is to get rid of unnecessary conference championships and end all teams games the same week, keep the BCS, and start a playoff bracket with the top 8 teams three weeks after the season ends.  If you want to do your OTHER bowl games those three weeks, go for it, just be done before the top 8 start playing for the championship.  This keeps all teams playing until the end and only allows for three week off and will end around Jan. 1.  As far as the SEC being the toughest conferences in the nation, I actually think they are one of the weakest conferences in the nation.
