Hello everyone- I hope I am posting in the right place!

I need your help. My business idea is to run local surveys in specific neighborhoods where I ask residents to share their favorite home service companies in exchange for a chance to win cool stuff- like an Amazon Kindle Fire.

Anyone who responds also agrees to allow me to share their contact info with my "Platinum Partners". These are local businesses who pay a monthly fee to be in the program and get the ongoing referrals.

I had 1000 flyers delivered to my neighborhood yesterday- asking to go to www.surveyNwin.com to share their favroite companies and enter the next drawing...so far no responses.

I would love to hear any feedback you have about my site and business model. What I need is your help in moving this idea forward and turning it into something that can be done in any neighborhood anywhere in the country.

I'm happy to share my revenue model with anyone who is interested in partnering up with me on this.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards,

Bill

Hi Bill,

I like your idea.  Very creative.  I checked out your survey site and it is too plain.  I think you should try a different promotion.  Rather then lets say giving up a $200 kindle or whatever do a promotion that says $5 paypal for every valid or entry.  I bet your response rate increases.  Also run a few $20 local gift certificate contests and this will also allow you to meet some local business owners as well.  You may also want to try to partner / copy foursquare somehow.  Also if you charge people to be in the Platinum program it seems there is a bit of conflict of interest. I would also work a lot on the website and spicing it up with better design and features.  I would be more obvious about your location as well since that is what your business is based on.  I still do not now where your business is located.  All the best in 2012 you got a great start!

Thanks so much for your input- I appreciate it!

I went plain on the website in order to test the idea...1000 flyers and no responses so far. I'm not sure if it's a plain website, folks not wanting to share their contact info, inundated with flyer spam, or a combination.

My test market is my neighborhood here in AZ, which is where all the flyers went. I do mention it(McDowell Mountain Ranch) on the site.

My idea for the Platinum Partner is to invite the favroite companies to participate, and expand from there to other local companies who already do business in the neighborhood.

Thanks again for your great feedback!

Regards,

Bill
