I`m one of the unlucky people whose Advanta Master Card account was just closed because the company is shutting down. Now I`m looking for recommendations for a new business credit card. Frankly, I got spoiled by Advanta`s rewards program and great rate with no annual fee.  I`m a little unsure of the big dogs (Citibank, Chase, etc.) that took government bailouts, but local financial institutions have all but stopped offering credit cards. Anyone else out there affected? What have you done? Suggestions for a replacement will be appreciated. Hurry while I still have a good credit score!

I like Amex.  You get the flexiblity to pay over time if needed and a choice of rewards or cash back.

I use Amex and put *everything* that I can on it.  The rewards points from Jet Blue provide me with three or four round trips on Jet Blue every year.  Send me an e-mail if you want to look at the program - I get bonus points for everyone I refer.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. I`ve spent most of the morning checking with vendors to see if they accepted AmEx and unfortunately learned I would need a more universally-accepted Visa or MC.
FYI,  outside this post someone suggested I look at Capital One`s No Hassle Reward card. Considering the current economic climate, they offered a very sweet deal, so I applied and a new card is on its way!
Nice to cross paths with you again, Steve.

Glad  you found something.  I was going to recommend the Costco Amex because they
pay th eir `rewards` in cash which I like a lot.  I put groceries, gas, you name it on there and
got a check for over $400 last year.  But you got a Cap One card already, so that`s good too.

I`d be interested in hearing if you receive any `static` from merchants to whom  you pay with this rewards cards.  Not all of them are aware of this, but many are aware that they pay higher discount rates for `rewards` cards, and even higher rates if it`s a business or corporate rewards card.  So as a matter of curiosity on my part (I`m in the merchant services business) please share your experiences in this regard if there are any.  Thanks.

This is getting off topic, but there a few small mom and pop companies that I won`t use my AMEX card at for exactly that reason.  But the grocery chain, Costco and Home Depot - different story.

I bought a used car recently, but the dealer wouldn`t take my AMEX card unless I paid the fee.
