Question, I have an idea for business that involves coaching/teaching and would require the extensive use of Skype or some other form of VOIP.  I am inspired by a friend who is using it to teach English as a Second Language online.  Have any of you had any experience with Skype and can recommend it and vouch for its reliability?  Also, I would love links or references to using Skype for business and what I would have to pay.  I understand Skype to Skype are free (I use it on a limited basis now) but if I was doing multiple calls a day I would like to know if that still holds true.

Hi Tyler,

As far as I know there are no restrictions for Skype to Skype calls. You can make landline calls by buying credits.  I use it only for Skype to Skype so I've never needed to buy or pay for anything.

I know of one consultant who is using it to do individual and group coaching calls, she is located in Australia.  So far she hasn't reported any problems.

I know that when I have used it I've had really good luck just make sure you use a good headset with mic.  The only time I've ever had a problem was in calls to Chile from the US.  They don't have good internet so that was the problem.  But we re-called and got back on the call.

Hope that all helps!!

I use it all the time to talk with people from other countries and as the voice call in feature for webinars.

I simply found out a skype account. 2.99 per month for unlimited decisions to USA and Canada and four per month for a physical range that individuals will call.

If you are using it for a non-corporate use (I.E personal consulting, coaching etc) don't worry about bussiness vs personal. It will be a great solution for both audio and video - just go ahead and do it.

Skype to Skype calls are absolutely free and the quality is pretty much the best I've seen given the type of program. As stated before, Skype business also has great offers and perks that pertain to the business side of video conferencing.

As a matter of fact, Skype is becoming a greater part of the business world as our connections expand and the Internet age matures. I think making it a part of your business or building your company around it is a supreme idea.
