I know when my husband and I had our skate magazine there was a site where you could post your print project and get bids from printers - kind of like how eLance.com works for designers. Does anyone know of a good place to get print bids? I need one-color printing on specific card stock so a lot of places like Printing4Less and Vistaprint won`t work in this case. I also need cutting and scoring for folds.
Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

I just wanted to say that while I can appreciate wanting to save money where ever possible, I really worry about "lowest bidder" printing. As a graphic designer for 15 years I got printing done by a large number of companies. While I don`t think the highest priced printers are always the best (in fact often the opposite) I found there is a point where the lowest priced - and some not so low priced - printers will do more to harm your image than you will save in money. I prefer to find a printer who I can talk to directly - even if its by email - whose price is quite good but provides top quality. I find if you establish a good relationship with such a printer, they will often go beyond the "call of duty" and get you printing that is always supurb without adding cost - and sometimes saving money because they know what can be done effectively.

I agree. I`m a graphic designer too of 15 years, with about 11 of those as a prepress tech. (I know my printing.) I would certainly not choose just by low price. Then again, what I need isn`t rocket science. It`s just my header cards, 2 up on an 8.5x11, on specific 80# card stock by Neenah and Wausau, black ink, scored twice and cut.

I`ve decided today to hold off my search for now and stick with my printer. I have too much business right now to switch. I just took on a very large fair in our area (it`s in 5 weeks) and will need a few thousand printed this week. I had better stick with the people who know my stuff for now.

Thanks everyone, for your suggestions and insight!
