LOL!! I love it!!
This SO reminds me of another site we had, awhile back, GMOOH. It was short for "Get Me Out Of Here!" and offered a scheduled phone call as an excuse to leave a blind date, boring party, meeting, or whatever.

This is a unique concept, and so far, the site looks fine. I particularly like the big and bold "Click here" for an example! Everything else is just how easy you make it for someone to either order a card, or tailor the card explictly to their specific situation.

Would it be possible to build an instant card? Who`s making these cards? Are you buying them from a source or are you the artist?

For example, if there were a sort of form or checklist someone could fill out, and the "site" would offer an exact match for a card, how excellent would THAT be!? :-)

Well I`ve always loved this idea. Some comments about the site, your images are misaligned in IE6. As for the design, I really thought you could play this up more. The feel of the site for me just isn`t right, it should be fun and funny, and theres no call to action, like entere an address and get started. Heck maybe you could stage a video and have a funny video that accompanies it.

All your sub page links are broken as well.

Thanks Craig for the comments. I am new to the site but I was hoping you would give my site and look-see. I love the GMOOH idea. Having someone call my work, go through the receptionist, to my boss, who then gets a hold of me, to get me out around 3pm would be a dream.

I didn`t make the cards, I paid an artist via elance.com to draw my ideas. I do love the idea of custom cards. All of the text can be custom, outside and inside. I see now I need to communicate that as an option. I make the cards myself, and print them on a high powered Dell Color Laser printer.

Thanks for looking as well tikki50. Would you try the site again? I am looking at it through IE6 and it looks fine to me. I do agree on the feel, I like the site but I feel like it could be more. Having a call to action is a perfect way to put it. I`ll get something added. I also love the idea on the movie, and I`ve even stored a couple of old CRT monitors that I could destroy in making it. Thanks for pushing something in the back of my mind to the front.

On a side note, what are your opinions on the images being offered on coffee mugs and a possible calendar? Those items don`t connect to my original idea or vision but I`m realizing that even when someone can send something or speak their mind without someone knowing, it oftentimes isn`t worth the risk. That is a fancy way of saying even when I do things to push people to the site, sales are in the toilet.

Michael, if you can get more management control over your cards (there`s a copyright issue coming on that), then there`s no doubt in my mind that you`ve got the whole after-market and secondary market covered.

Coffee mugs, calendars, maybe. Remember, a "crappy thing to do" is a 1-time event, where the card is wagging a finger in someone`s face. As such, they likely wouldn`t want to be reminded of it over and over, right?

On the other hand, a balloon would be fun. The mug, possibly. Depends how mad someone is. :-)

The concept is brilliant! Now come the details of making it a business. What you`ve offered here is "proof of concept," a thing I learned via these forums. It`ll work, and we can see the prototypes.

Big issue: copyright and ownership. You`re going to need many cards for many occasions. That means hiring an artist (or more than one). In the employee contract, you`ll have to take ownership of the work. Totally, so you can use the images any way you want in the future.

You`ll want to speak with an intellectual properties attorney, and consider partering for equity with an artist, or hiring one. Without the images you have nothing. But if you`re the one with the ideas for pictures and messages, that`s a good thing. Y`know?

I think the site is hilarious ... totally easy to use which is great.

I could see coffee mugs having a sort of Dilbert-y appeal.
