I am of the opinion that offering efficient customer service 24 / 7 can make or break small businesses. Good customer service is the lifeblood of any business.

Some Benefits are:

·         Increased sales – Selling services and products 24 / 7

·         Resolving customer complaints quickly

·         Ensure your customers are happy.  i.e. Customers are general more satisfied when they speak to a real person

·         Assist in forming a relationship with customers

I think this is cool. That's a great idea. Do you have a list of businesses that's qualified for these benefits?

It depends on the business type and the product you are dealing with. Like if you have many inquiries from starting only even though you have small business, you should offer customer service.

It is mnot true that smal business get less inquiries

I agree with the above post which says it depends on the business type. While 24/7 customer service is great, for certain types of businesses it could mean incurring huge costs when the revenues are not that high.

@ HomeBusinessBug There is no list of business that qualify. The criteria is based on volume, service levels and knowledge / skill set required.

I'm sure Customer service is a great asset to any business, but there are huge costs associated with it. There are ongoing training costs, as well as wages for the customer representatives. To begin with, you must have a lot of customers to justify adding a customer’s service department to your business. If you do decide to add the department, make sure the customer representatives also have a good sales background. While answering customer’s questions, they can sell extra products or services as well as provide upgrades to the customers.
