hello all - I had to go through all of these steps to set up a buisness Page for my work.

You must have a  Profile in order to set up a Page - your Profile should be personal and will not be affiliated with your Page.  Your Profile will aquire `friends` and your Page will aquire `fans.`

The main problen with Pages is that you must gain fans in order to be found on facebook.  If you become a fan of your own Page it will come up in your search because it is within your network.  However, this doesn`t mean that anyone else who searches for you will be able to find you.  If you gain enough fans however, your Page will be come up in searches by anyone.  It`s a wonderful way to advertise for free, just takes a little bit of legwork!

Hello Jeremy,

I believe having a Facebook page is a good idea. If I would be to pick the three most important things about managing a Facebook page would be to:

  1. Keep it fresh, interesting and engaging. Interact with the fans, share it with your friends and encourage your fans to share it as well.

  2. Link it with other social media, such as Twitter or LinkedIn.

  3. Try web applications focused on promoting small businesses online: such as Qapacity (http://qapacity.com) or GigPark (http://gigpark.com)

What do you think?

Hey everyone,

I've heard that you need 100+ fans in order to reserve a vanity URL on FB such as facebook.com/photoenrichment, is this true?  It's so hard to find any good Help info on the site, I've been all over.

I'm at 72 fans and still can't seem to get the URL, so I think that must be the case.

Any insight would be welcome, and if you would, please Friend me and then Become a Fan of my PhotoEnrichment Programs so I can get that URL!!  I'll gladly return the favor if you like.

Thanks a bunch!

RV

I may have overlooked this in the FAQ, but is it possible to start more than one business page? I partner in two businesses, and I'd like to start a page for each of them. Can I do them both from my one account, and also will people know they are both mine? I'd like it to not be real obvious, as one has nothing to do with the other and it would just look out of place.

So other than this Ad ability on a business page is there any other differences between a group page and a business page?
