I`m looking for ideas to reach parents and sell more DVD`s from our Kids
who Rip series.

Kids and their parents really enjoy our DVD`s, We sell them directly from
our website and over the holidays they were available at Costco, Sam`s
Club and a few other big box stores. I`m told by my distributor that we
sold 16,500 units of a special box set we created for the distributor. I
added a 50% discount to all members or SuN on our website with a promo
code- "StartupNation". Just recalculate after entering the promo code.

Our website has turned into a YouTube for kids and the kids on it really
enjoy it. We`ve had 1,500 kids sign up and post photos and videos. I`m
working to bring Kids who Rip to TV and have partnered with the largest
Children`s magazine. I`ve had meetings with major Consumer Products
Companies and there is a lot of interest.

At the moment I would like to get advise on how to get direct sales, the
income would be very helpful in creating the TV show. I’m also looking
for companies that could be a sponsor of our website, TV show, mobile
content, etc. We have a great message for kids to be active and healthy.

You can see samples or our DVD`s at these links:

It looks to me as if you`re selling something that`s fallen into disfavor, these days: competition. :-)

The site looks great! Easy to understand, and not too much of anything annoying. I visited the store, and see your DVDs. It looks as if you`re saying that here are examples of kids doing something with excellence, enjoying themselves doing it, and demonstrating that if you take charge of your life, you`ll have a good time.

Assuming I`m on the right track, then the problem is multiculturalism, the threat of excellence, and the "victim" mentality being promoted everywhere. Those would be your deep-seated "customer objections."

I also think an increasing number of parents are starting to realize what`s taking place. They`re searching for ways to get back to a point where kids really believed they could do whatever it was they put their mind to doing.

Note all the tools to teach preschoolers how to read, write, drive cars, and uncover the secrets of gravity. I`d say at about 4th grade is when kids start to confront the problem of being "too good," "too smart," or standing out from the crowd.

Have you thought about connecting with PTA groups, home-schooling associations, and pediatric psychologists? Your product seems to be geared toward incentives and positive reinforcement. Also, what about detox centers and other teen counselling centers? Here are people giving up hope, who`ve lost the joy of life. Maybe seeing these videos would help?

As a parent, I am a little weary about programming that promotes extreme sports to what look like very young kids to me. Some of the action in your video can be life threatening! I am surprised that you can publish this kind of material without warnings about "don`t try this at home" all over them. I mean, if Jackass has to have warnings left and right for adults to not try this at home, do you worry what your un-warning-ed videos encourage much younger kids to do? I would appreciate at least something on your site that discussed safety!

I think you can promote a healthy lifestyle without it being all about flips and jumping trees on your bike and falling 2 stories on a snowboard. There is one child who brags about skating in an empty pool with ice in it and he`s not wearing a helmet ... a 10yo in a bikini doing modeling shots ... where is the ability to flag these kinds of posts?

I am just saying this because I would not let my child on your site for these reasons. And I think you need to take precautions against getting sued if you haven`t already.

I like the edits and the concept makes perfect sense. I am going to check the site later. I may have some new ideas for you to reach your market and some direct sales ideas.

It took us longer than I hoped but we have a safety message on the
homepage now. The comment from nhgnikole reminded me to get it on
there. We have a similar message at the beginning of our DVD`s.

Good stuff :-) There are way too many people overly concerned about safety these days. To the point where it`s preventing interesting and useful things from getting into the markeplace.
