Hi everyone, My name is Jason James, creator of the popular 'ghostboy' mobile comic, available on the Apple App Store and the Android Market.

I am seeking small sponsorship finance to fund the animated version of my comic, the project will be utilising new technologies and push boundaries in its creation for mobile devices. I cannot go into too much detail regarding the technicalities but I can say that it is a very EXCITING project.

All I am looking for is £12 sponsorship from individuals wanting to help move this project forward. There are a number of exciting benefits in return.

So why am I seeking sponsorship? The reason for this, is that I can retain complete control of the project without the involvement of a media investor. Plus it makes it interesting for you, the sponsors.

All the best,

Jason

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you "phanio".

Entrepreneurial finance has proven over and over that managing one or two professional investors, who typically assume an active role in their portfolio companies, is a lot harder and time-consuming than managing hundreds of investors, who (i) have only a nominal investment at stake, (ii) don't have the voting power to force your hand in making substantial changes, (iii) are resonably satisfied when you're delivering above average financial returns, and (iv) don't require a complicated exit scenario.

JASON, I don't think that the type of sponsorship you have in mind will deliver the results you're hoping for. I didn't have a chance to check on your application or review your blog, but it sounds like you have a viable product that's generating sales, perhaps even profits. So why should people donate $12 and not be entitled to a slice of the pie?

Depending on the amount you're seeking, there might funding structures available to you that can be implemented swiftly and won't require you to relinquish control over the project.

If you're interested in discussing your project, please feel free to send me a PM and I will try to give you a few more pointers.

I hopes this helps.

Mark
