Excuse my ignorance, would you mind explaining this to me? As I am understanding it (and I think I am misunderstanding) Company X would send out a press release and list you as the contact and when potenial customers/clients call they would get your company on the line instead of Company X? I apologize if I am missing something very obvious I just don`t get it.....thanx....

Thanks correct. However, it can be more than just potential clients; it also can be the media.

I think this is the missing piece.

Many small businesses lack the money required to hire a PR firm. So they send out press releases on their own - which is totally acceptable. But a standard press release has both a "press contact" and a "company contact" listed. If both contacts are the same person, then it`s a little harder to fake that you`re bigger than you really are.

Shayla is saying that for a fee you can list her company as the press contact. She`ll field incoming calls and your company gets to look like a big shot.
