I`m getting ready to start an aggressive sales campaign to high schools around the US.  I know many schools already have magnets and permanent stickers, but to have a removable decal that they can change depending on what sport is in season is a big selling point.

My question is, when I contact a school, who is in charge of making that kind of decision?  Instead of describing what I need to the secretary, who will most likely turn me away, I want to ask directly for the decision maker.   Only problem is, I`m not sure who that is.  Booster club? PTA?Student Council?

Anyone with insider information or just an educated opinion, please let me know.

Thanks,

The PTA Fundraising chair would be the best one - or the booster club fundraising chair.  Both of them can make the direct decision about fund raising for their groups.  And, they are working on it RIGHT NOW for next year.

Thanks Kim, very helpful... There is nothing worse than sounding uneducated when making a sales call.

Be prepared to have a brochure or catalog to send to the PTA head. PTAs operate as a board and often will require consensus before making a purchase.

I don`t have a brochure yet, I was going to give them a sample as it`s only a few designs.  I guess I better get a brochure together.  Thanks for the info.

Our school district has a committee called "Ways and Means" and I think they are the ones who handle fundraisers....probably can contact them through the PTO as was previously mentioned.  Most school districts have websites now too and you can get names, phone #s and email addresses of Booster Clubs, etc. without having to hassle the "gatekeeper"!

Find out some info on soccer clubs, little league, swim teams, etc. for next spring, too!

Good Luck!

Great idea, I`ll check out their websites.  My soccer ball is awesome, very 3D.  I`ll research that.  Thanks,

Skygirl,

I would also contact the Associated Student Body Director.  He/She should also have a say in fund raising activities for the clubs and other school groups.

There is a large audience for selling dips for fundraisers. You can check out the products at www.gourmetcreations.net to see all of the ones they offer....I think the profit is 50%! we love those dips!

You could also contact coaches, band directors, booster clubs, etc. directly.  They usually like to see samples and tend to be not too hard to get in touch with.  That's what we do with a lot of our school fundraisers anyway.
