I was recently scammed by the Duff Law firm in Fairfax VA, long story short I went to them seeking legal representation, David Duff said they needed to do an evaluation of the case to see if there were legal merits to the case. I said what my claims were he concluded it would be about $110,000 in damages, from what I had told him. He set Adam Kronfeld to work on evaluating the case, he found a list of issues that could be claimed in my case, he estimated the damages to me were $75k to $85k at present, but once the lawsuit was filed we could then subpoena documents that would prove $100k in damages. After reviewing the case and coming up with these results and charging me thousands of dollars for the evaluation, they simply said there was no certainty of winning the case and they would not represent me in court.
Despite that I wanted to proceed but they refused, I now believe they never had any intention of representing me, they simply wanted to collect the fees for evaluating the case. That is in my view a scam, a fraud, an abuse, a ripoff, you name it. I'm fairly upset at this and intend to file in small claims against them. I'm also thinking of creating a site were I would give a summarized version of this and also a detailed one were I clearly explain my experience and how they went about scamming me. If nothing else to prevent others from falling into the same trap. I have not yet created the site (or filed suit), my first question in this regard would be Am I exposing myself to any liabilities in doing this? If so, what are they? IMO I'm simply telling my side of the story of how David Duff, Adam Kronfeld and the Duff Law firm scammed me, but since after me telling them that I intend to expose them they don't appear to care one way or another, thought I ask first.
Thank you for your opinions,
