Greetings SUN community!

A new old book was recently recommended called "Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill" [1938]

After reading the preface, it is clear that this book is meant to be read by everyone by and large, and more importantly, as a group. Further, it is impressed that this group meet and discuss each chapter that has been read. So basically, a 1938 version of a book club.

The best part is, I found a link with this book is veiwable online, for FREE  here : http://www.sacred-texts.com/nth/tgr/tgr05.htm

(of course, if you want to curl up with your own copy, that`s cool.)

I will cover the first 3 chapters this Friday, but chime in whenever and hopefully we can launch and official "read"! Could this be the first SUN book club reading? I hope so!

If you in, please post!

I look forward to reading with you!

Interesting idea....a book club...group..discussion group. :-D I`ll venture into it. Not sure on time, but I can surely skim three chapters. What`s the date they`re due for discussion? "This Friday" would be...when? The day after Thanksgiving?

This book`s a great starter. If it takes off, it should be limited to viewable online, as not everyone would buy a book or take it out of the liberry. But heck, reading it online isn`t that difficult. :-) Right?

I am so happy to see all this enthusiam! Woohooo SUN community! Great to have you guys on board, thanks Craig Kathy & Jeff! !   can`t wait to read your insights (will leave my reading shoes on for your Craig ) Also joining us will be pinnaclestar, who actually recommended this read.

I was targeting this Friday (11/24) as the first discussion.  As I move forward into the first chapter I have realized (as much I a like to speed read) that this is a slow read, and rightly so. A pen and pad (or in this case copy, paste, highlight, note) kinda read.  So bearing that in mind, I would like to shoot for the first discussion to cover the preface, author and publishers notes etc, and chapter 1. It would be great it we could hear any general impressions of the book as well ( ie judging the book by its cover?)

So to recap my ramblings:

Friday, 11/24, discussion of preface thru end of chapter 1

Happy reading!

This seems like an interesting read - thank you for the link. I may participate in some discussion, but I probably won`t be here on Friday, due to thanksgiving festivities.

Friday is the day we bake the cookies so for now I wouldn`t be able to join an online "discussion" but I`m sure I`ll benefit from rereading the book and reading people`s thoughts.

Sounds like a great idea!  I will also not be there on Friday, but will indeed chime in on occasion and will definitely be following this thread...
