Hi ebiznewbie!

I didn`t think I`d come back to this thread, but I decided to because of you.  After all, you did say you had the courage to post your site for a critique. And I was concerned you might feel a little disappointed about where this topic went.

There are a lot of great people here, that can probably help you out.  Roland of vwebworld is someone you can really trust, and would probably be happy to answer your questions.  Of course I`m a little biased because I have such a great working relationship with him.   M Hall seems to know what he`s talking about too. I always enjoy reading his posts. And Craig, well you can read a lot of his knowledge right here. Of course there are many others. Take a look around the marketplace.  You can always send a private message through Sun to any members.

I wish you lots of success!

I got bamboozled! I ought to write a book about it. It`s embarrassing to get this kind of response...guess I must have pressed a few buttons, but here goes: Thanks, everyone,(Alaskabear, Minimegeology, Houseofjerkyjanie). Thank you shoppers, everybody, who really told me what I need to know. IA told me that they would submit my site to Google and "hundreds of other search engines", but I have since found out that was not the truth. I submitted to Google myself and the bots ought to be around now. I also submitted to MSN, but not to Yahoo because of my current horribly adverse circumstances (phone temporarily discontinued, several shut-off notices in the mail...). Thanks, neighbors-even to DaleKing- for attending my failure moment. Hey! Failure is an event, never a person. I`m still hurting, but it`s part of the extremely steep learning curve I have had  to endure. I  had doubts before and some regret now about becoming an internet commerce entrepreneur with no prior experience and no money, but I have tried Mary Kay, Princess House, and Amway, with no success. I`m still trying to understand what C++ is, or what an "anchor" is. I can`t write HML. Taught myself computer use. (I`m an educator. Learning is my business) Yeah, for many reasons, the site sucks. My family took out a loan to buy the sites, so I am locked in, but I will revamp http://www.thebabyclothesisle.com  as soon as I can bear to look at it again, as much as possible within the framework--knock out the useless calendar. Good one! Learn how to put product descriptions where they go! (Yeah, Stores On Line is that "lunch lure" company. I thought it was the best, most cost effective way for a person who wanted to start up to go. I`m a bit disappointed at how it turned out.)  As for the relationship with IA, the SEO company I just got rid of, I went with them because they had good salesmen and they did not seem to be so condescending and impatient when I asked so many babyish-newbie-ignorant questions...after all I knew not too much more than how to turn the computer on let alone research anything (Google? what`s that?) when I began. I couldn`t understand half the technobabble they were saying, but they sounded knowledgeable. I know better, now. Snares, pipes, please! (I love the great highland pipes. I think they`re sexy) And the going price of wisdom is...
Once again, neighbors, before I just walk away from it all for awhile, thanks much...and another thing...truth told outside of love is an act of war. Remember the purpose of this site. Honor each other as artists. Promote excellence.
Peace

Well, I`m glad you survived it all. :)  Really, if you don`t know much about the internet, and you want to run a business this way, it`s important to work with someone you can trust, that has your best interests in mind. Contact Roland.  He will at least tell you what you need to know, and point you in the right direction.

ebiznewbie: Don`t be too discouraged.  If you have any questions as you move forward, don`t hesitate to ask here.

So, now you make lemonade....

Your product line isn`t a bad one, but the website needs a lot of work.  Find someone to rework the site, and while they are doing that, start planning a conventional marketing plan to spread the word about your product line.  (Sorry, but in the real world, very few internet businesses work on the `if you build it, they will come` method).

I`ve been there myself.  When it happened to me I just happened to started reading Tony Robbins books and listening to his CD`s.  I look at situations like this, when they happen to me, in Tony Robbins fashion as `succeeding at producing the wrong result` and then work on producing the right result.  Also, leverage these forums as much as you can for help!  Chances are someone on here is going through or has gone through exactly what you have gone through.  It`s much better to ask advice and help from here that have gone through similar experiences than taking the long way around things.  It`s a great way to save time and headaches!

The most important thing here is that you didn`t give up and are pushing on through!  This you should consider a tremendous accomplishment!

Don`t hesitate to come ask people on the forum for help or if you need some pointers on how to pick out a good tech guy I would be more than happy to offer you some great pointers and suggestions.  Remember, we are all here to help each other succeed!
