Guys,

SuN is a great site and I referred many friends here. I also wanted to share another GREAT site as it specifically relates to SEO activities. Visit Jill`s site at www.highrankings.com. There are a ton of articles and it is a great resource for learning about how search engines work and how to create effective websites.

There is a lot of SEO information on the web.  The trick is, how to know if the advice is correct or accurate, especially since SEO does change as the search engines particularly Google changes.

Another forum, which I help moderate, has some of the most knowledgable SEO people I know - with successful SEO results to back-up their suggestions... Totalwebtalk

There are some basic / standard rules to follow to help search engine results. Of course first you need to decide on the keywords you want to target.... that is a whole other subject and process - to select the keywords that will give you the best result.

A few basics - use you targeted keywords in:

  • your URL (domain name AND web page url)
  • web page title (each page should have a unique title
  • h1, h2, h3... tags
  • bold text
  • in-bound (links from other sites/directories/forum signatures) and in-site links (links to other web pages on your site)
  • page content
  • alt image tags

I remember learning how to play the piano. Then I learned how to play it for 7 hours without ruining my arms and wrists. After that, I learned how to read and write music, work with all kinds of electronic gadgets, and how to perform on a stage.

Great! I was a piano player. But then came the one "minor" problem. I had no idea what to play! So I just copied other people`s material, and eventually left the business.

It`s great to know all about how SEO works, what are the latest and greatest techniques. Perfect! So? What content will you then write, and how do these sites help you figure out what each paragraph will say?
