Ran out of salad dressing today, and had intended to have salad for dinner. Hopped on the internet and found these handy recipes. They taste great and don`t have the laundry list of "unpronounceables" in them. Enjoy!

Italian Dressing Mix

• 1 tablespoon garlic salt
• 1 tablespoon onion powder
• 1 tablespoon white sugar
• 2 tablespoons dried oregano
• 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 1 tablespoon dried parsley
• 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
• 2 tablespoons salt (I recommend using only 1 TBSP, or omitting entirely)

Mix together the garlic salt, onion powder, sugar, oregano, pepper, thyme, basil, parsley, celery salt and regular salt. Store in a tightly sealed container.

To use: Whisk together 1/4 white vinegar, 2/3 cup canola oil, 2 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons of the dry mix.

Super Quick Thousand Island

• 1/2 cup mayonnaise (I used Hellman`s Light. Half the calories and still tastes very good to me)
  
• 1/4 cup ketchup
• 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish (I only used 2 heaping tablespoons)
  
• pinch salt
• pinch ground black pepper
• (I also used a pinch of paprika and onion powder)
  

Mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, salt and pepper until thoroughly combined, and serve.
