We would like to introduce ourselves to the community here at startupnation.

Our names are Mike & Joy McCullough and we are new kids on the block or in our case new middle aged here at startupnation.Our lives changed in a major way with the coming of this New Year. You see on January 2nd at 3:45pm I received that dreaded phone call that my father was being rushed to the hospital and had suffered a heart attack. Upon arriving at the hospital we were met by my Mother as well as my sister Nancy with a worried expression on there faces. At that point we were afraid to here the news they was about to be shared with us. The news thankfully was not nearly as bad as I expected his condition was stable but there was a long road ahead which would include bypass surgery as well as heart valve replacement. Today my father is doing fine and we are careful to take advantage of each precious moment we have while he is still part of our lives. Going through this whole process has brought about a new awareness for Joy and I that so much in this life we live is taken for granted, including our personal health. After seeing my father laying there on that recovery table after his heart surgery I told my wife Joy that I never wanted to have to put our children through an experience like that. But in order for me to live up to that promise it would require a drastic change in our lives. Right then and there we made a commitment to change our lives and the lives of others by promoting a healthy lifestyle. I do not believe it was by chance that just few days later we were introduced to Mona Vie by a close friend from church.
