Hello all.  I just went on-line with my revamped website and would love any opinions you could give me:

www.BusinessESource.com

I know there is a lot that can still be improved, so don`t be shy about things that could be changed.

Thank you so much!

Hi Janet - first thing that leaps out me is images - they`re pixelated, especially the top banner image - has that homemade look everyone wants to avoid in projecting a strong online presence.  Same story on the header images in each section.

Also, when your navigation menu expands (clicking on Services), it wraps the text `HR Advantage` around, leaving it disjointed - if you can, try to expand that section so that it doesn`t wrap.

And of course, in your links section, there`s nothing pointing to StartupNation!

Janet,

I feel like I`m playing "Guess what`s a link"...on the home page.  Keep your link styles consistent.

The navigation is very clear to me so it`s easy for me to browse around the site.  Adding to Chuck`s comment, I would recommend getting rid of the expanding "Services" menu on the left...since no other menu item expands and why do you want to hide the "Q&Q, HR Rescue....etc."?  These are money-makers....bring `em out into the open!...

Good initial layout.  Give this post a few days to collect more feedback and put the suggestions to work and you`ll have a killer site!!!

(excellent domain name by the way)

Hi Janet,

Overall I think you website is clean and professional looking, with the low resolution of the graphics being the only real catch.

One other thing that I  noticed is that on the `Links` page and on the `Business Organization` page things don`t line up. While it could be an intentional design element, the rest of your site is pretty symmetrical, so the asymmetry here seems out of place.

Noticed one other thing. The bottom right hand link on your homepage- Firefox doesn`t recognize the apostrophe and shows a question mark instead. It might be a MS specific symbol, but is perhaps fixable by your web guru.

Good luck!

  1. Pixellated images
  2. Try to avoid using Comic Sans font (like in the `Contact Us` image on the right side.  No professional site ever used Comic Sans.
  3. Try to keep your navigation links to 7 or less.  If you must have more links than that in one spot, break `em up by category.  Things like `Contact Us` and `About Us` can be pulled to the bottom or top horizontal navigation.

1) You`ve already gotten feedback about the pixellated images.   If you`re doing the images yourself, just save the .jpg image at a higher quality such as 80%.  If the source image itself is too small, try framing the image with bars or a logo on the side so the pixellation is less appearant.

2) Give more specific content.  This is your site and a representation of you to potential clients, I`m assuming.  If so, give specific information about yourself including your experience to make yourself stand out from the other websites like this on the Internet.

3) You may want to consider integrating a blog into your website so people will get the immediate impression that this is a website that is constantly updated and as a result, constantly checked.  There are many ways to do this, either by putting a RSS feed into the frontpage (Lots of free software for that) or an iframe to a blog you already have (Sounds complicated but actually fairly easy).  I`d suggest centering the site itself around a blog.
