Ward`s Gadgets  http://www.wardsgadgets.com/

This is my recently upgraded site.  I moved everything from an OsCommerce back end to an under development version of Magento software.

I am still adding inventory and would really like to hear some opinions from other than my friend and family.  Customers have not complained and continue to make purchase, which is really what it`s about.

Let me know what you think

Thanks,

Mike Ward, Owner

I am not your friend or family, but I like your site and I added it to my bookmarks.  Your prices tend to be high, but if you get the volume you may be able to be more competitive.

The site was easy to navigate, looks good, and the terms of use were understandable.

Good Luck.

First of all, I LOVE gadgets! I totally like playing with new stuff, reading about weird stuff, and looking through these kinds of sites and catalogs. :-)

That being said, your site isn`t all that interesting...yet. The main reason is that you`re not another gadget freak...gadgeteer, if you will. You may be, since I don`t know you, but you don`t come across that way on your site. The result is...just another site with stuff to sell.

I read your "About Us" and frankly, I`d like to see that content on your landing page, with only a few pictures of "Ward`s Picks of the Month!" or something like that. (By the way, your online "presence" isn`t the same as your online "presents.")

The site looks and runs well, and it seems easy enough to buy something. But think about Sharper Image, Gadget Universe, and every other major gadget catalog and company. They all have the same special tone of voice, and that`s in the descriptions, layout, and headlines.

You`re Ward! You have a personality, and you choose the gadgets to sell based on what...how much you can buy them for? Or do you choose them for their Cool Factor? :-)

Right now, you`re just another ho-hum store where I can look at something and who knows...maybe buy it. What you want is to present the gadgets YOU think are excellent, compelling, fun, and quality. That`s all about show and personality, and certainly something you can add into this site without a lot of further expense.
