The local computer store that I used to recycle all my old ink cartridges through stopped doing it.  So I got had gathered quite a pile here in my studio.  Well, I just brought them by Office Depot where they gave me a $3 coupon for each cartridge I dropped off, which numbered 25.  Now I essentially have $75 credit at Office Depot.  Not bad!

If you do a lot of printing like I do, you may check into places where you can get a lil sumpthin` back for recycling.  If not, recycle your ink cartridges anyway.

I take all mine to Staples, Steve.  I also get $3 in store coupons.

Why throw away good money you`ve spent buying ink when you know you`ll just have to buy it again?  I use the coupons to help lower the cost of my new cartridges.

Steve I strongly recommned the Okidata 5500 photo laser printer. After some tweaking to the colors, she runs beautifully. Plus I get toner online for 135$ for all 4 colors, which will print 1200 2 sided full color flyers. It prints color at 22 pages a minute, can print banners and is realtively cheap. I gave up on inks due to dry-outs, cost of prints, etc, it`s simply not worth it when these color lasers are so cheap and fast.

Sure my friends laugh when they see a commerical printer next to my machine at home, but quickly shut up when I dish out 100 photos for them in 4 minutes and they`re amazed at the quality and speed.

Well, I don`t do enough printing to warrant a commercial laser printer.  I`ve got a wide format Epson for making art prints which is more my style.  Thanks for the recommendation though!

I go to Cartridge World.  It`s worth seeing if there is a franchise location near by you.  Not only can they refill your cartridge cheap, they resell recycled cartridges.  I highly recommend it.

Don`t judge a cartridge just by its price; the number of pages it can print is just as important. That figure will change depending on how much ink you use on a page; the industry-standard is 5% coverage per page for each color. Some companies make yield information available on the Web along with other printer specifications; others will provide it if you ask.

I agree. If I could save money with the use of coupons, I would definitely go for it. I go for Lexmark cartridges.
