I`m about to get into a web development project to put together a site for my new online retail business. I came across an ebook - http://websiteprojectebook.com/

Just wondering if anyone has read it and if it`s worthwhile. Are there any other similar resources/books that educate entrepreneurs on the web development project process and how to work with programming firms? I see many blog posts but no books on this

Thanks for advise.

Check out this ebook by 37 Signals.  I`m not sure how relevant it is to your project but I enjoyed it.

TimG,
I must agree with Nikole on this one. Plenty of good solid info offered on the site here. Also try these worksheets

Yeah, I`ve read that one. Great views but seem a bit skewed towards the technology these guys are pushing - Ruby on Rails.

CampSteve - I`d heard of 37signals before but never read their book.  It was refreshing to see their "less is more" attitude & other insights. Thanks for the recommendation!

Ruby on Rails is good technology, but you can interchange those ideas with whatever framework you want.

Like any book, it`s `take it or leave it` advice.  Their information is not really anything new but I like the way they introduce and present it for the web.

And like Nikole points out, the ideas can apply to any sort of technology framework.  You just have to look past their own applications to see that.  After all, they are a business with a product to sell.
