I does look a bit better. However, the colors look rather akward. The logo a bit too dark and it clashes with the color of the template. The menu on the left is kind of small. I suggest that you utilize the entire width of the left panel to expand the menu navigation links.

The area in the center is filled with an image;however, the left and right sides are left blank.

Also you have too many pictures of TV sets.

I recommend that you relate the pictures of the products to the navigation menu for easier access for the shopper. Simply put, categorize you available products. Also, what you might want to do is the following. When your products are on sale or you are offering a discount on a given product or have a promotion going on empisize the HOT DEALS.

As a way to improve your store I suggest that you visit some of the e-commerce sites that are doing well or which you use or like something in terms of their content, layout, and presentation of products, and try to replicate or let it influence your creativity.
Keep your Head Up :)

TWC,
Much better..... So did the removal of the extra <body> tag do the trick?
Well from my opinion "and this is from a web developer" Your web site looks better than what you had. With a little more work and perhaps a nice Logo on top, your web site will look good, aside from everyone is saying, you came a long way.

Hey! Looks better and better.
I do agree with tomasz that the front page looks a little blank in my browser. The image is centered and gives a little too much white space.
Also. I think you should add more ways to navigate. Have you considered some top navs and breadcrumbs? You have to scroll to the bottom of the page for some of the nav links... like home, etc... and when you have lots of products, it can take some time.

I`m going to mention something different.  If you have the rdbelectronics.com domain, does prostores (or whoever is doing the hosting) offer you email forwarding?  Seeing rdbelectronics@houston.rr.com as your email address immediately makes me think "One man operation."  Not the sort of place I`ll shell out thousands of bucks on a big ticket item.  If your host allows for email service you could set up service@rdbelectronics.com and prevent that sort of thing.  It would still go right to you, of course, but customers would get the impression of a larger company.

I still don`t understand why "Lost your password" gets such a prevalent place in navigation when there`s no place to sign in.

You might want to rethink the use of the word "Alert", too ("New Featured Product Alert").  Why is it an alert, exactly, and not just your product catalog?  Alert makes me think of services you sign up for, like "Email me when there`s a new featured product" or something.  All you`re really doing is featuring products on your homepage, that`s not really something I`d call an alert.  Unless it`s a timed special or something and running out in X hours, etc...

Thanks everyone  for your opinions, I will work on  the  things I can.
Some things I have  no control over because of the service I  am using. I just have  to work with what  I have, and work around  the others.
But please if anyone has any good ideas, I would love to hear  them. I want the site to be a  really cool place to visit and ppl to come  back.
I had an idea about  adding a small audio file of  myself  with something like a welcome message and an explanation of why I offer my items so cheaply.....does anyone think this would be a good idea???

re: audio message?  No.  At least, not anything that comes over automatically.  That`s very disturbing to people in quiet environments, or might otherwise already have something playing in their speakers.

Maybe "Click here for a message from our president..." or something so people could choose to hear it if they want.  But if they`re going to click through, then just have a text version.  A picture of yourself and a scanned graphic of your signature at the bottom go along way toward getting out the personal message.

A couple suggestions:

Tweak your links and text.  I would recommend making your links the standard blue instead of black.  Also, just keep links always underlined.  When the underline from a link disappears when you rollover it....it feels awkward to me.  Maybe it`s because I spend 10 hours a day online.  If you keep the links blue underlined...people will know to click on them.

Also, a golden rule of web design, don`t underline text that isn`t a link (like this..don`t you want to click on me?...doh!  nothing happens!) (the pink "saving" text).  It works fine in print, but web users recognize underlined text as being links...so when you underline non-linked text...it forces to user to now rethink what is and what isn`t a link on your site.  Keep people focused on your products, not on how to use your site.

It sounds like you are using a template and may be limited in what you can and cannot change.  But if possible, link your logo and company name in the upper-left back to your home page.

All in all...it`s on it`s way twc238!

TWC,

I think your website as a start needs a new logo and corportate identity.  When I first saw the logo it gave me the impression that it is something related to games or star wars or so...I understand you are trying to indicate something related to satellite products there but I think it needs to be more abstract....

This is the corner stone as I see it for any change to happen and once this is done you will start to relate everything to it there (color, typeface, etc.) and create your "BRAND".  My company offers a basic design set for corporate identity creation.  Let me know if you are interested and I can send you a proposal.

Another thing that I didn`t like about the site is the horizonal scrolling.  There is no need for it so please try to eliminate it.

I also encourage you to remove the "ProStores" logo...It is enough marketing to just say "Commerce enabled by ProStores" in text.

Hope that helps ... good luck!

Riham.
