Leah -

Just wanted to wish you all the best in the Race for the Cure this weekend.  I hope the weather improves.  I`m already sponsoring several friends this year - including two who are dealing with breast cancer at the present time.  I lost one of my best friends to breast cancer last year.  It is a cause very important to me.

I did the 10K LiveStrong walk last month.  It was inspiring, empowering and surprisingly emotional.

Good luck with your efforts this weekend.

- J.

Thanks sooooo much for the support!!! We are going to have a good time. It will be me and two other moms and our little ones this year.

Jeff...I so badly wanted to walk the LiveStrong one...and it just never paned out! I will be there next year though...with bells on!!! My step-father (role-model/mentor) died three years ago of lung cancer...it was then that I made it a major point in my life to help support these efforts. I only wish I had started sooner. The ladies I am walking with, all of us have family members who have faught their battle against breast cancer. It should be a good day!

Supposedly the weather is suppose to clear up...but I figure...eh..it`s Oregon...what`s a little rain..right!?

Leah - I`ll help. The link above didn`t work for me.

Email me and send the link that way.

When I was at the dentist today my hygienist told me her sister just found
out she has breast cancer. I`d like to do something to support the cause.

Have fun and I hope the weather clears.

Hope the day went VERY well.  I saw it on the news after we flew in last night and thought about you.  It looks like the turnout was great!

I walked with the team from Cancer Care Resources.  It was incredible to walk with this group of caregivers, supporters and survivors (including one of my best buddies Bev who is a stomach cancer survivor).  You might want to hook up with them for the next LiveStrong event.

Have a great day!

Good luck Leah!  I have participated in the Revlon Run/Walk a few times.  I echo what Jeff says about walking with survivors.  I really makes you appreciate life, and all those around you.

Hello all!! A little worse for the wear this morning...little sleep on Saturday night...the walk Sunday morning...adn then my father-in-laws birthday Sunday afternoon. Needless to say...I am a bit beat this morning...but I have to say...what an amazing turn out...and an amazing morning yesterday. I think the cool thing about this walk...no matter who you come with, or if you come alone, you are walking with THOUSANDS of survivors...and the families of those who lost the fight! It is truly humbling to be walking behind and along side those who are wearing one of those pink bibs that lists out in memory of or in celebration of...and then you find yourself next to someone wearing the pink hat that states survivor.

My friend and I have decided that we will be training this next year so that we can run it next year! It was definitely a moving day! I would encourage everyone to do it at least once in their lifetime...if not for breast cancer, or cancer, there are a ton of other walks that support different causes. I know here in the Portland area this weekend they are doing the Habitat for Humanity walk. Find something...and meet some of these people...it is really a great experience.

I have been blessed in my life time in the sense I have never had the opportunity to look at life and take it for granted. I have watched loved ones battle with cancer and both win and lose the fight. And I have watched my own son battle with health and struggle to survive. Steve and Jeff...I am with you...I hope that others can take a look at their lives and their loved ones and really get a better understanding for what this time means...you just never know when it will all be over!

Thank you again for everyone`s support! I don`t think we have an official count of participants yet...but I heard rumors of close to 50,000 people! It was really a beautiful site!
